MATHEW 25:35-36 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in. 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
As children of God we should live a life that is unselfish and purposeful, but many haven't learned the art of sowing into others lives as the scripture above speaks of. I've found that there are two types of people in this world, and they are givers or takers. The question is which one are you?
Our prime example was Jesus who sowed His life for others, He was totally selfless. Jesus was always concerned about others and their needs. His life was intentional, He came into this world to make a difference in peoples lives, and to set a example for us.
If we learn to sow into others lives we get something back we weren't looking for... it's joy and fulfillment. Putting others before yourself will have to be intentional, it doesn't come automatically. The human nature is selfish, always wanting and self serving, but this kind of life leaves people empty, lacking and unhappy. The God nature in His children should be a loving, kind and generous spirit, which brings about purpose and fullfilment, but we must choose which type of life we desire.
There is another reason we should live an intentional unselfish life, Jesus said in Mathew 25:40 In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. If we do good to our fellow man we are doing good to our savior and if we are not doing good to them, well you get the picture. We have to be intentional in the way we live. Remember this, whatever kind of seeds we sow always brings a crop. Make sure that you sow good seeds.
