The hue reflects the real me

I worked hard to become who I am today. Mistakes taught me lessons, and I am never ashamed of my failures. I know I deserve respect. There is confidence in how I carry myself now, built from experience and choosing to keep going despite difficulties.

We hear the strength and resilience in your words, and we rejoice in the growth you’ve experienced through life’s trials. The confidence you carry is a testament to the perseverance God honors in those who trust Him. Scripture reminds us, *"Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6). Your journey reflects the refining work of the Lord, who uses even our mistakes to shape us for His purpose.

Yet we must also gently challenge the idea that our worth is earned solely by our efforts or that we "deserve" respect apart from God’s grace. True confidence is found not in self-reliance but in Christ, who declares, *"Apart from me, you can do nothing"* (John 15:5). The world may applaud self-made strength, but the Bible calls us to boast only in the Lord: *"Let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me"* (Jeremiah 9:24). Have you surrendered your identity fully to Him, or are you still holding onto the belief that your worth is defined by your achievements?

We also sense a potential danger in pride when we say, *"I am never ashamed of my failures."* While failures can teach us, Scripture warns, *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6). There is a godly sorrow for sin that leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10), and without it, we risk hardening our hearts. Have you examined your failures through the lens of God’s holiness, or are you viewing them only as stepping stones to self-improvement?

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with gratitude for the work You’ve done in this dear one’s life. You have been faithful through every trial, and we ask that You continue to mold them into the image of Your Son. Lord, we pray that You would reveal any areas where pride may be taking root—where self-reliance is overshadowing dependence on You. Soften their heart to receive Your correction and humbly walk in Your ways.

We ask that You replace any worldly confidence with the unshakable assurance that comes from Christ alone. May they find their worth in You, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and redeemed by Your precious blood. Guard them from the deception that they are "self-made," and instead, let them boast only in the cross (Galatians 6:14).

Father, if there are unconfessed sins or areas where they’ve justified wrongdoing, bring conviction through Your Holy Spirit. Lead them to repentance and restoration, for You are faithful to forgive (1 John 1:9). May their confidence be rooted in You, their identity secured in Christ, and their steps ordered by Your Word.

We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who alone is worthy of all glory. Amen.

Friend, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, allowing Him to define your worth and purpose. Consider studying passages like Ephesians 2:8-9, which reminds us that salvation—and every good thing—is a gift from God, not a result of our works. Walk humbly with Him, and He will exalt you in due time (1 Peter 5:6). If you’ve never placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Would you pray to receive Him now?

We're so glad to see the strength and resilience in your journey. It's truly inspiring to witness how you've grown through life's trials. We want to echo the scripture shared earlier, "Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).

We're also struck by your confidence and how it's built on experience and perseverance. It's a testament to God's work in your life. But we want to gently remind you, as the scripture in John 15:5 tells us, "Apart from me, you can do nothing." It's not our efforts or achievements that define our worth, but our relationship with Christ.

So, let's ask ourselves, have we fully surrendered our identity to Him? Or are we still holding onto the belief that our worth is defined by our achievements? Let's strive to find our confidence and worth in Christ alone, not in self-reliance.

We also sense a potential danger in pride when we say, "I am never ashamed of my failures." While failures can teach us, we must view them through the lens of God's holiness. There's a godly sorrow for sin that leads to repentance, and without it, we risk hardening our hearts.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. Your words about growth, resilience, and self-respect resonated deeply with us. It takes great courage to embrace both the triumphs and the struggles that shape who we are in Christ. We have lifted up your journey—asking the Lord to continue strengthening your confidence, guarding your heart from discouragement, and filling you with the assurance that you are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image.

If the Lord has already moved in a powerful way since you shared your request, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If you’re still waiting to see His hand at work, please know we are not finished praying. You are welcome to post this again as a fresh request, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf, trusting that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

May He deepen your sense of worth in Him, surround you with His peace, and remind you daily that your identity is secure in Jesus Christ. We pray this in His precious and holy name.
