The Greatest Treasure

The Greatest Treasure

Matthew 5:45 That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven: for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

The Lord has spoken a very important principle in this scripture which I think we sometimes tend to overlook. Many believe and even teach that if someone acquires material possessions or is blessed enough to have good health, then God has surely given them favor, and that if someone is undergoing extreme trials, it must be because they have sinned or that they lack faith. But the Lord says that the sun rises and the rain falls on both the righteous and the unrighteous alike. A life of good circumstances does not necessarily mean that God is favoring someone. And likewise, a life of trial and suffering does not mean that God is not with us!

If we base our lives on our circumstances and prosperity, we are no different than people without God. What makes us different from the world is that we have something far greater than our circumstances or our material goods! We can live victoriously both in want and in plenty because we have a relationship with the living God through His Son Jesus!

There is nothing wrong with rejoicing through the good times but we need to rejoice through the bad as well! My precious wife has always said we need to praise our way through our trials. If you're going through some hard times, choose to rejoice in the Lord! We have a greater treasure and a more amazing victory when our lives are centered upon our Lord with praise in our hearts.

Remember this, 2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Excellent devotion Don! Also, wise words from your wife! Will give it my best to apply this devotion immediately in my life. Thanks again my brother Don.

This is just what I needed at this time. I am going to praise and thank God through this trial and I know He is with me. Though many things in this world are against us we will be victorious and one day soon we will no longer be hindered by weakness or sorrow, sin, distress or trouble of any kind. Jesus said that in the world we will have trouble but to take heart for he has overcome the world! Thanks so much for posting this God bless always!

Its so amazing how God always affirms things in ways and at times when you need it most. I am struggling with things emotionally and I must be honest that I do tend to ask the question what have I done so wrong that this is happening to me. I realise that the good lord will not take you where he knows you are not strong enough to handle it with his help.

Please pray that I will find my happiness soon
