The greatest city currently is about to see such glory come upon it. The day is coming when what was witnessed in the early Church will be seen today. How many are willing to forsake all to be part of such a church. In Jesus' name may that church come to be where the chosen, few, elect will gather, and live together being about our heavenly Father's business, and getting ready unto the day of the Lord when the Lord Jesus Christ will come back in power, and great glory! In Jesus' name! Amen!

We hear the fervent cry of your heart for revival and the manifestation of God’s glory in our cities, just as it was in the early Church. Your passion for a remnant of believers who are wholly devoted to the Father’s business and prepared for the return of Christ is deeply moving. We join you in praying for such a movement, where the power, love, and unity of the Holy Spirit are poured out in unprecedented ways.

The Word of God reminds us of the early Church’s devotion and the signs that followed them: "They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer. Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles" (Acts 2:42-43). We long to see this same devotion and power restored in our day. Jesus Himself prayed for unity among His followers, that the world might believe: "that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me" (John 17:21). This unity is not merely organizational but a deep, Spirit-wrought oneness that testifies to the truth of the Gospel.

Yet, we must also examine our hearts and motives as we seek such a revival. The early Church was marked by humility, repentance, and a willingness to lay down their lives for the sake of the Gospel. Jesus warned that not all who cry "Lord, Lord" will enter the Kingdom, but only those who do the will of the Father (Matthew 7:21). Revival begins with brokenness, repentance, and a return to the foundational truths of Scripture. We must guard against the temptation to seek signs and wonders for their own sake, rather than the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom. The apostle Paul reminds us, "For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power" (1 Corinthians 4:20), but this power is always aligned with the truth of God’s Word.

We also caution against the idea of an exclusive "chosen few" who alone are the elect. While Scripture speaks of the elect (Matthew 24:22, Romans 8:33), it also makes clear that God’s desire is for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9) and that His grace is available to anyone who believes (John 3:16). The Church is called to be a light to the world, not a closed community that withdraws from it. Jesus commanded His disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19), not to gather in isolation. We must be careful not to fall into the error of spiritual elitism, which can lead to pride and division rather than the unity Christ prayed for.

Let us also remember that the glory of God is not merely about external manifestations but about the transformation of hearts and lives. The prophet Haggai declared, "The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former" (Haggai 2:9), speaking of the temple, but this promise finds its ultimate fulfillment in the Church, the body of Christ. The glory of God is seen in His people reflecting His character, love, holiness, justice, and mercy. As we seek revival, let us pursue these qualities above all else.

We pray with you for the coming of such a glorious Church, one that is wholly surrendered to God, marked by love and unity, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the Great Commission. Let us also pray for wisdom, humility, and discernment, that we may not be led astray by false teachings or the deceptions of the enemy.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts longing to see Your glory poured out in our cities and nations. We ask for a revival that begins with repentance and brokenness, where Your people return to their first love and walk in obedience to Your Word. Raise up a remnant who are wholly devoted to You, not for their own glory, but for Yours. Unite us in love and purpose, that the world may see Your Son in us and believe. Pour out Your Spirit in power, that signs, wonders, and miracles may accompany the preaching of the Gospel, drawing many to salvation. Guard us from pride, division, and the deception of the enemy. May we be a people who reflect Your character, holy, just, merciful, and full of love. Prepare us for the return of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who will come in power and great glory. May we be found faithful, doing the work You have called us to until that day. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

Let us also encourage one another to live lives of daily surrender to God, seeking His will above all else. Revival is not just an event but a lifestyle of devotion to Christ. As we wait for the day of the Lord, let us be about our Father’s business, sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and demonstrating His love to a broken world. May we be found faithful when He returns.

Father, we love because You first loved us, 1 Jn 4:19. We ask for a restoration of our first love, Rev 2:4. Help us "repent and do the things we did at first," Rev 2:5, i.e., when we were first saved [1]. Extra grace to pray (in The Holy Spirit) & study the Bible so we can learn His Word and extra grace to pray so we can share the Truth filled with "Power from on high," Acts 1:8, The Holy Spirit, His fruit, Gal 5:22-23, and gifts, 1 Cor 14:1-2, and holiness. Help us "Make Disciples, baptize (live) and teach obedience to all Christ taught, Matt 28:19-20. Protect us from distractions, sin and the evil one, Matt 6:13. Give extra grace and discipline to dig in deeply over this summer and throughout all our Lives. Let us "choose the best part "as Mary, who "listened to Jesus' Teaching in a posture of humility," Luke 10:40, which The Lord promised would not be taken away, Luke 10:42. [1] Oddly enough, the Ephesian Church Jesus addresses there has a historic precedent in Acts 19:1-5, After a slightly comical exchange between Paul and the "believers" at Ephesus, He asks them if they'd received the Holy Spirit when they came to faith. Their answer is "We haven't even heard The Holy Spirit exists!" They'd come to faith through Apollos who'd only been familiar with The Scriptures and the Baptism of John (The Baptist). After receiving the Baptism of The Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands, (foundational teaching, Heb 6:1-2), the 12 all speak in tongues and prophesy! In Acts 19:8-12, after a time of battle over the Word of God in the Synagogue, Paul sets up "The School of Tyrannus," a seminary of sorts, and the revival there so mirrors the Early Church after The Day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-5:15-16 in so many ways that it's noteworthy. They remained under the teaching of the Apostles, the Word spread, the church grew and extraordinary miracles confirmed the move was of God. Let us remember to "keep ourselves in the love of God by praying in The Holy Spirit which edifies us in our most holy faith," Jude 1:20-21. Let us express that love through prophecy (edifying, comforting, exhorting and sharing the testimony of Jesus, 1 Cor 14:3, Rev 19:10), This is an example (from Ephesus -- the church used by Jesus (hand picked) to tell us to return to our 1st love through by emulation of the works they did at first as we repent from anything we shouldn't be doing contrary to doing this as the best part. We hear your deep longing to see the church alive like in those first days, believers truly together, set apart for the Father’s business, ready for Christ’s return. That’s not just a nice thought; it’s the kind of hunger God loves to answer.

One thing we’ve seen: revivals that shape cities almost always start small, among a handful who refuse to wait for a crowd before they give everything. The early-church fellowship wasn’t produced by big events; it was forged in daily devotion, shared meals, honest prayers, and real sacrifice. If that’s what you’re yearning for, maybe the first step is already close, gathering a few who share this fire. Even two or three, meeting simply to worship, stay in the Word, and pray for your city, can become the seed of something far larger. No need to launch a program; just invite the Lord to build among you.

We’re standing with you in that hope. Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, thank you for stirring this vision of a people so given to you that a city sees your glory. Nurture in us that same wholehearted longing. Raise up those who will forsake all, walk in deep unity, and make ready for your return. Let your light break in, starting with a willing few. In your name, Amen.

The prayer is fervent, and the desire after God’s own heart, yet let us take heed that our zeal be according to knowledge. You long to see the early Church’s glory upon a great city, a people gathered and living together in holy consecration. That is a noble vision. But remember, the true glory of the Church never lay in outward arrangement, but in the abiding presence of the Spirit. The Spirit being with us, this is our glory and our defence. It is the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ that transforms sinners into saints, not the mere assembling of a separated few.

You speak of the elect gathering together. Beware, lest in seeking a pure church you fall into a sectarian spirit. Christ is all, and in all. Love the whole Church more than a part, and Christ best of all. The early disciples did not withdraw to build a perfect commune; they went everywhere preaching the Word, though persecution scattered them. If we would see Pentecostal power, we must first see Pentecostal repentance. The Church as a whole needs revival in the persons of its members. We must hear the cry, “Return, return, return!” Let us begin with ourselves, for our own need of revival is, in some measure, the cause of that need in the Church at large.

Do not imagine that the glory comes by finding a small, faultless fellowship. That way lies pride and disappointment. I hear voices from the glory crying, “Return, return,” but they call us not to a select enclosure, but to deeper communion with the Lord Himself. Is the love of Jesus, the generosity of Jesus, the zeal of Jesus, the consecration of Jesus to be seen in us? If not, we have need to begin again and do our first works. My whole soul thirsts for this, I owe all to Jesus my Lord! He stands at the helm of all affairs, guiding Providence for the blessing of His chosen. Let us then serve Him with all our might, laying out every talent for His glory. Not in ease and comfortable separation, but in the harvest field, weeping as we sow.

The day of the Lord will come in power and great glory; that is our highest hope. But until then, let us not seek to build a visible city of saints so much as to convey to perishing men the knowledge of Jesus Christ. That is the best of all blessings. If you would see glory, go tell the lost that Christ is all. Then, whether in life or death, His rest shall be glorious. Return now from every evil way, and press on in the power of the Spirit, then shall the Church be made ready, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed.

You pray with fervor for a city to see again the glory that was witnessed in the early Church, and you ask how many are willing to forsake all to be part of such a gathering. This zeal is precious, for indeed the apostles left everything to follow Christ, and they received joy and confidence in that forsaking. But let us be careful not to be quickly shaken in mind or troubled, as if the day of the Lord were now upon us. The resurrection and our gathering together to Him will not come before the appointed time, even though the longing for it burns rightly in the hearts of the faithful.

What is the good of buildings and a city’s outward splendor if none obey God there? The true city, the Church of the living God, is bound together in one not by walls, but by the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace. The glory that matters is not found in a single place where the chosen few withdraw, but wherever souls are given wholly to the heavenly Father’s business, for then, even if the earthly city crumbles, no harm can touch those who are willing to give their very souls. Do you see? It is not a gathering enclosed in one city that manifests His glory, but the spectacle of men and women, formerly despised or scattered, now shining like stars because they have walked in virtue and endured.

Consider the early Church: they lived in many cities, yet all the saints in a whole region were one Church, all bound together. They forsook their own possessions not to form an earthly paradise, but to follow Christ wherever He led, often into affliction, hunger, and the daily expectation of trial. Yet God comforted them in all their affliction, so that they might comfort others. This is the glory: that through those who believe and suffer patiently, the power of God is marvelously shown, and His name is glorified. When He brings those who were pitiable to such honor in His kingdom, it is His glory and theirs.

So then, do not fix your hope on finding a city where the elect live apart, as though the resurrection were at the door. Instead, labor a little while in that state of life to which God has called you, stripping yourself with readiness for the glorious wrestlings of virtue. If you would be part of that blessed company, then imitate the Husbandman who waits patiently for fruit. Despair of no one, and do not think that all must ripen at once. The fishermen cast often and caught nothing, but at the proper time they gained all. So we too wait for the fruit of holy living to spring up on every side.

Therefore, let us not be torpid. Let us establish ourselves in the habits of self-restraint, until doing the deeds of virtue becomes as natural as breathing. So shall we, with a great freight of good works, bring our vessel into the quiet harbor of that City which is to come, on that Day when the Lord returns in power and great glory. There we shall win the perpetual and imperishable crowns, by the grace and love towards man of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be all glory and might, now and always, and world without end. Amen.

It stirs the heart to long for what was witnessed in those first days, to see the power and purity of the early church once more. That cry for a people wholly forsaking all, living together in the business of the Father, is a cry for the very life of Christ to be manifest in His body. The hunger is good, and it aligns with the truth that the Lord is at hand, even at the door. That expectation is meant to be a purifying hope, a constant incentive toward holy living and a readiness that doesn't look back.

Yet as we hold that desire, we must also hold closely to what Scripture shows us about the church itself. There is a subtle trap we can fall into, a thinking that God has only one true expression in a given area, and that we, the particularly committed few, are it. The Bible warns us clearly about deceivers and false prophets from the very beginning, but it also shows us a church that was scattered, not huddled into one exclusive compound. The scattering after persecution opened up the gospel everywhere. The Body of Christ is the universal church, the catholic church in its truest meaning, every true child of God is a member. Only one Person can say "my church," and that is Jesus Christ.

The danger with thinking of ourselves as the singular, chosen group who must gather and live together as the sole authentic remnant is that it can lead to a glorying in the flesh. Paul had to rebuke the Corinthian church for its carnality, a church that actually operated in remarkable gifts. Somehow our wires get twisted, and we begin to think that the manifestation of power is the sign of our special status. God deliberately chooses the weak and the base things so that no flesh should glory in His presence. If He used only the mighty and the obviously noble, we would glory in the men, not in the Master.

The early church did not put their trust in their ability to form a perfect commune. They trusted in the imminent return of the Lord. They lived with the joyful, sobering conviction that Jesus could come at any moment. That belief was the fuel for their devotion. When Paul said, "the Lord is at hand," it wasn’t a call to isolate, but to live in the kind of love and selflessness that would overflow from a life beholding His glory. Day by day, with an unveiled face, we are to be looking at the glory of Jesus, and by that very looking, the Spirit transforms us from glory to glory into the same image. It is not by striving to create an elite gathering, but by beholding Him, that we become the church He is coming for.

His coming will be unmistakable. He will descend from heaven with a shout, and then we shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. He is coming to be glorified in His saints and admired in all those who believe. Our part is not to manufacture the final, perfect church through our own separation. Our part is to be part of His body now, loving the brethren, testing the spirits, and walking in the light of His return. The cry is not, "Lord, make our group the pure one," but rather, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." May we be found faithful, with our gaze fixed on Him, ready and watching, not because we have secluded ourselves, but because our hearts have been captivated by His coming glory.
