The future God has written for me

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before God with faith and hope.

We pray first for the salvation of your former wife and your children. Scripture speaks of so great a salvation, not merely rescue from earthly troubles but deliverance from death, the destruction of the power of the devil, and the gift of the kingdom of heaven and everlasting life. This comes through Jesus Christ alone, who delivers us from evil and supplies every good, bringing us from the curse into sonship so that we may put on Christ and receive the Spirit of adoption. We ask that God in His mercy would draw each of them to Himself, that they would hear His voice while now is the acceptable time and now is the day of salvation, and that they would turn to Christ in repentance and faith.

We pray also for you, that you may walk in the will and power of God and know the joy of the Lord as your strength. May God grant you power and authority in prayer according to His will, with wisdom and discernment, so that you may be a conduit of His blessing and love to others. We ask that you may glorify Him both by faith and by works, remembering that to glorify God is itself a great privilege, and that a life of obedience keeps us near to Him.

For your needs we ask for financial provision and breakthrough. May the Lord supply what you need to care for your responsibilities and to abound in generosity toward others, making you a faithful steward of all He entrusts to you, content and diligent and free from the love of money.

And we pray that God would break the power of evil in your life and home. The enemy is fierce and seeks to besiege our salvation, and he gains ground when we give him even a small opening. Scripture teaches us to flee from sin as from the face of a serpent, for God has not left us under compulsion to the devil. He trails upon the ground and can be resisted. We ask that God would deliver you as He delivered His servants from the lion's mouth, and more than that, that He would deliver you from every evil work and keep you from falling. Put on the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God, and continue in prayer that the evil one may be bruised under your feet.

May the Lord guard your heart, establish your home in peace, keep you watchful and sober, and lead you daily in careful hearing of His word, in courage, and in freedom from worldly entanglements, so that no part of what is needed for salvation is lacking. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart and allowing prayer with you in these deep needs. I join you in bringing each of them before the Lord.

First, your desire to see your ex wife and children saved is close to the heart of God. Scripture teaches that salvation is entirely outside our own ability. It rests on the grace of God through the work of Jesus Christ, and on believing that work with the faith God Himself gives. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all people, and Jesus said that whoever comes to Him He will never cast out. This is a great salvation because it can reach the lowest sinner and because it is not only forgiveness but the promise of eternal glory in the family of God. Jesus is the captain and origin of our salvation, the One whose very name means the Lord is salvation, and the gospel itself is the power of God to save everyone who believes.

Because of this, today is the day to receive what God offers. Scripture urges us not to neglect so great a salvation and not to receive the grace of God in vain, but to respond now while the time is accepted. There is no other way to be saved except through Jesus Christ alone.

I strongly encourage you to keep praying and trusting God for the salvation of your loved ones. God hears those prayers. At the same time, the example in Acts with the jailer and his household shows that each person must personally hear the word of the Lord and believe. They spoke the word not only to him but to all in his house, and all who believed were baptized and rejoiced together. So continue to pray, and as God gives opportunity, lovingly share the message of Christ with your ex wife and children, trusting the Holy Spirit to work in each heart to bring personal faith.

I also pray with you that you will walk in the will and power of God and in the joy of the Lord. God strengthens us with might by His Spirit in the inner man so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. His power to save is also His power to keep and to lead us. Joy does not depend on outward circumstances. Even when believers have faced great trials and financial lack, they have known abundance of joy in Christ, and that joy gives strength for each day.

For wisdom, discernment, and power and authority in prayer, ask the Lord to make you a clear conduit of His blessing and love. God delights to give wisdom to those who ask, and He hears the prayers offered in Jesus name according to His will. As you abide in Christ and His word abides in you, your prayers will be shaped by His purposes and you will grow in discernment to know what is good and right.

Concerning financial provision and breakthrough, bring your needs honestly to the Father who knows what you need. Scripture shows that Jesus Himself knew poverty and had nowhere to lay His head, and He teaches us to seek first the kingdom of God, trusting Him to provide what is needed to care for responsibilities and to be generous to others. Pray not only for abundance for its own sake but for contentment, faithful stewardship, and open hands to bless others as God provides.

Finally you asked for the power of evil to be broken in your life and home. Through the cross and resurrection Jesus has already won the victory over sin and darkness. As you submit to the Lordship of Jesus, confess His name, and walk in His light with fear and trembling, working out the salvation He has already worked within you, the enemy has no rightful claim. Ask God to fill your home with His presence, to guard your mind and heart, and to build you up together with the family of God where the presence of Christ is known.

My prayer for you is that God will strengthen you inwardly by His Spirit, that you will know the love of Christ and be filled with His joy, that He will supply what you need and make you a blessing to many, that He will draw your ex wife and children to Himself and bring each of them to personal faith in Jesus, and that His power and peace will reign in your life and home. May you continue to trust His grace, which alone saves and keeps us, and walk daily in the hope of His eternal kingdom.
