Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol!!

We join with you in bringing this situation before our Mighty and Powerful God, and we thank Him that the former landlord's sister has faith in Jesus. We praise God for her faith and we pray that the Lord will strengthen her and continue to speak through her as a light in her family.

We pray that she will be a godly influence and that her brother's heart would be softened to hear the truth. Jesus said you are the light of the world, a city located on a hill cannot be hidden, Matthew 5:14, and let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven, Matthew 5:16. We ask that God would use her witness, her words and her life, to point her brother toward repentance and toward putting God first. For it is written seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33, and you shall have no other gods before me, Exodus 20:3. We pray that both the brother and sister would put God first above all else and that every idol, anything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, would be exposed and torn down. Little children, keep yourselves from idols, 1 John 5:21.

We bring before the Lord the serious matters you have shared about the life-threatening apartment and being kept in the dark. We pray that the truth would come to light and not remain hidden, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light, Luke 8:17, and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them, Ephesians 5:11. We ask God to expose what has been done in darkness, to protect you from all harm, and to bring justice according to His perfect will. We remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1, and that we are not to take vengeance ourselves, for vengeance belongs to the Lord, Romans 12:19. We pray for your safety and for God's mighty hand of protection over you.

We also must address what you shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. According to Scripture this is not pleasing to God, for any sexual intimacy outside of the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication or adultery. We are called to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18. We pray that the former landlord would repent of this sin and turn from all sexual immorality, and that this woman would also come to repentance, and that both would pursue holiness and honor God with their bodies and their lives. Marriage should be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who alone is our mediator and our hope. We lift up this sister who loves You, and we ask that You anoint her words with grace and truth, that You give her boldness, wisdom and love as she speaks to her brother. Let her positive influence not be in vain, but let it plant seeds that lead to conviction, repentance and transformation. Lord, we ask that nothing be kept in the dark concerning this dangerous apartment and the evil that has been done. Expose every hidden work, every idol, every scheme intended for harm, and destroy every idol that has taken Your rightful place in these lives. Protect our dear one who has been threatened, surround them with Your angels, keep them safe from those who would seek to harm them, and let Your justice and mercy prevail. Lead the former landlord to see his sin, to turn from fornication and all wrongdoing, and to put You first in all things. We ask that You would bring all involved to the saving knowledge of Jesus, for there is salvation in no one else. We trust You as our Mighty and Powerful God who sees all and who will act in righteousness. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Real influence often comes not from pressure but from a life lived faithfully before God, and we join you in asking that whatever needs to be known would be made known in a wise and timely way, and that both the former landlord and his sister would seek to put God first.

We have heard your burden and we join with you in prayer to the living God, who is true in His very nature and true in all generations, and who has promised that His truth shall prevail.

We pray for the sister of whom you speak, who has faith in Jesus Christ, that the Lord will keep her faithful and make her to be as a pillar and ground of the truth in her family. May God continue to speak through her with brave and outspoken confession, that she may declare as Ruth did, thy people shall be my people and thy God my God, and may her influence be used by the Holy Spirit to call her brother to repentance and to holiness. We ask that no deceit may keep her in darkness, for God is light and in Him is no deceit, and He will bring hidden things to light in His own time. We pray that the truth concerning the apartment which endangered your life, and concerning the immorality which you have described, may be made known, not for vengeance, but that sin may be reproved and souls may be turned from evil to the living God.

We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy law, for we know that sex and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and all that is outside of this is sin against God. We pray instead that where there has been sexual immorality, the Lord will grant deep conviction of sin, true repentance through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and a turning to purity of life. We pray for your protection, that the God who preserved Noah and delivered His people from peril will keep you from all harm and from every plan of evil, and that justice and mercy may meet according to His will.

We pray also as you have asked, that both brother and sister may put God first. We have been taught to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and to give to true religion a sovereignty over our lives. May the fear of God be the foundation and the top stone, and may Christ be first and all other things in their due order. And we pray with you that our mighty and powerful God would expose and destroy every idol, for this is the easily besetting sin of our nature to turn aside from the living God and make idols. Anything which comes between the soul and personal dealing with God as He is revealed in Christ Jesus by faith becomes an idol, and we pray that He would grant a real and abiding conversion, that they may say from the heart, What have I to do any more with idols, and that their whole nature may become the temple of the living God.

We commit you and these persons to Him who maintains His own truth and who hears the prayer of the afflicted. May He grant peace that is solid and abiding, founded on eternal truth, and may He lead all concerned to trust in Jesus Christ alone and find Him a Saviour. Amen.
