We join you in prayer for this difficult and serious situation and we thank God for the former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord will strengthen her and continue to speak through her as a light in her family.
We ask that God will make her a bold and loving witness to her brother, that her positive influence would not be in vain, and that He would use her to call him to repentance and truth. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 that we are the light of the world, and we pray she will shine that light faithfully. We also pray that nothing that needs to be revealed will remain hidden, for Luke 8:17 tells us that nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. We pray that the sister is not kept in the dark about the dangerous condition of the apartment her brother rented to you and about the sin that has surrounded this situation. We pray that the truth will be exposed, for Ephesians 5:11 calls us to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather to reprove them, and Ephesians 5:13 says that all things when they are reproved are revealed by the light.
We must also address the sexual relationship you mentioned. God calls us to holiness and His Word is clear that sexual intimacy outside of marriage between a man and a woman is sin. Hebrews 13:4 says marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, and 1 Corinthians 6:18 warns us to flee sexual immorality. We pray that the former landlord and this woman will be convicted of this sin, that they will turn from fornication and pursue repentance and purity, and that any ungodly soul tie would be broken in Jesus' name.
We are deeply concerned to hear about attempts on your life. This is evil and God hates violence and shedding of innocent blood. We pray for your protection, for Proverbs 18:10 tells us the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to him and are safe, and Psalm 91:1-2 promises that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We pray that no weapon that is formed against you will prosper as promised in Isaiah 54:17. We also pray that justice will be done in God's way. Romans 12:19 reminds us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and Romans 13:4 shows us that God has given governing authorities to bear the sword against wrongdoing. If you have not already, we encourage you to seek protection and report these threats to the proper authorities as well as trusting God to be your defender.
We agree with you in praying that both the former landlord and his sister will put God first. Exodus 20:3 commands us to have no other gods before Him, and 1 John 5:21 warns us to keep ourselves from idols. We pray that our mighty and powerful God will expose and destroy every idol in their lives, whether it be money, property, relationships, or self, and that their hearts would be fully surrendered to Him. Proverbs 28:13 tells us that he who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy, and we pray for that confession and mercy for all involved.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we lift up this sister in Christ to You and we thank You for her faith. We ask that You anoint her lips and give her wisdom, courage, and love to speak the truth to her brother without fear. Keep her from being deceived or kept in darkness, and reveal to her what she needs to know to be an effective witness and to stand for what is right. Lord, we lift up the former landlord to You, we ask that You convict his heart of any wrongdoing regarding this apartment and his immoral relationship, that You bring him to repentance, and that he would put You first above all else. Expose every idol in his life and demolish it by Your power. We pray also for the woman involved, that You would bring her to repentance and that any evil plans to harm Your child would be exposed and brought to nothing. Cover our friend with Your protection, surround them with Your angels, grant them peace, wisdom, and safety, and let Your justice and truth prevail. We ask all of this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and our access to the Father, for John 14:6 tells us Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. Amen.
