Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol!!

We join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord and we thank God for the sister who has faith in Jesus and for her willingness to be a light in her family. We pray that the Lord will continue to speak through her and give her boldness and wisdom to speak the truth in love, for we know that faithful are the wounds of a friend and that the Lord often uses the godly influence of family to draw a heart toward repentance.

We agree with you that what is done in darkness should be brought into the light. We pray that this sister is not kept in the dark about the serious matters you have described, including the dangerous condition of the apartment that was rented to you and the immorality that has taken place. The Scripture teaches us to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them, Ephesians 5:11, and that nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light, Luke 8:17. We pray that God in His sovereignty exposes every hidden thing and every idol, for He has commanded, You shall have no other gods before me, Exodus 20:3, and every idol of the heart that is put before Him must be torn down. We pray that both the former landlord and his sister will put God first in all things, for Jesus taught us to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33.

We must also address what you have shared about the sexual relationship outside of marriage between the former landlord and this woman. According to Scripture this is not taken lightly, for sexual intimacy is ordained by God only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman. Outside of that covenant it is fornication and, if either party is married to another, adultery. The Word says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4. We pray that the former landlord will come under conviction, confess and forsake this sin, and pursue purity and holiness, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. We pray also that he will turn from any idols that have led him astray, whether it be money, lust, power, or the approval of others, and that he will be made a new creation in Christ.

We are deeply concerned to hear that you believe your life has been threatened and that people were hired to try to harm you. We pray for your protection and for justice and truth to prevail. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust, Psalm 91:1-2. We ask the Lord to be your refuge and to surround you with His protection, and we encourage you to also seek the protection of the lawful authorities that God has ordained, for governing authorities are servants of God for good, Romans 13:4. If a crime has been committed or your safety remains at risk, we encourage you to make it known to the proper authorities as well as to trusted godly counsel.

We come before the Father only through the name of Jesus, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is through Jesus that we have access to the throne of grace, and we cling to Him as our hope.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up to You the sister who loves You and the brother who is in need of Your mercy. We ask that You anoint this sister with courage and love to speak Your truth without fear, and that You open her brother's ears to hear and his heart to repent. Expose, Lord, every hidden work of darkness, every dangerous deceit, and every idol that has been exalted above You, and destroy those idols by Your power so that You alone are worshiped. Bring conviction for sexual immorality and lead him into repentance and purity. Protect our friend who has brought this request, guard his life from every evil plot, let no weapon formed against him prosper, and let truth and justice be established. We ask that You be put first in both of their lives and that Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in this situation. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Thank you for bringing this to us. We can hear how unsettled and burdened you have felt after that housing situation, and how much you care that truth comes out and that God is put first.

We are joining you in prayer for the former landlord's sister. We thank God for her faith and we ask that He would continue to give her wisdom, clarity and courage to speak what is right and loving. We also pray for her brother, that his heart would be open to God and to honest counsel.

We hear how frightening it has felt to believe your safety was at risk. We are praying for your ongoing safety and peace, and that what is true about that apartment and the relationships involved would be brought into the light in a healthy, orderly way. When fear lingers after a difficult living situation, it can help to walk with one or two steady, trusted people locally, a pastor or counselor who knows you, who can help you sort next steps and stay supported.

Father, we lift this sister and her brother to You, and we lift our friend who is carrying this concern. Give protection, discernment and calm, help truth to be known, and help each heart to put You first above every idol. Lead them in Your will and guard them in Your peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your petition and we carry it with you to the throne of grace, where our great High Priest ever liveth to make intercession.

We give thanks that the sister of whom you speak has faith in Jesus, for salvation is through Him alone, and there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. We pray that the Lord will keep her faithful, that she may grow less and less in her own esteem and more and more in Christ, and that the Divine Spirit will speak through her with clarity and holy boldness. As you have asked, we pray that she may not be kept in darkness concerning the matters that trouble you, but that truth may come to light, for whatsoever doth make manifest is light, and the Lord bringeth hidden things to light in His own time and in His wise sovereignty.

We pray also for the former landlord, that the Lord in His divine sovereignty and mercy would work upon his heart to put God first in all things. There is no attribute more comforting than divine sovereignty, yet it also reminds us that God will not be mocked and that He beholds all our ways. We pray that every idol, whether it be wealth, or lust, or self, or any created thing set up in the heart against the living God, may be exposed and destroyed. The prophet warns us, Fall not into that idolatry, and we echo that prayer, that every false god of the heart may be cast down, that the dry tree by divine grace may flourish and the high tree of pride and sin may be brought low. We do not ask God to bless what His Word calls sin, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and the union of the body belongs only within that covenant. Where there has been immorality, we pray not for its continuance but for repentance, for cleansing through the blood of Christ, and for a turning to holiness, that God may be just and yet the justifier of him that believeth in Jesus.

Concerning the wrongs you have suffered, the dwelling that has endangered life, and the fear that men have sought your harm, we commit you to Him who is our deliverer from floods of trouble. Divine interpositions come in the way of deliverance, not always by miracle, but by the sure hand of Providence, and He hath delivered and doth deliver. We pray that the Lord will be your shield and keeper, that He will restrain the hand of violence, bring justice to light, and satisfy justice at the cross for every repenting sinner. If there be guilt, may the Holy Spirit bring conviction, not that men may rail against God's justice, but that they may smite upon the breast and cry for mercy, and find that mercy full and free in Christ who bore the punishment that justice required.

Our prayer together is this: O Lord, display Thy perfections in this dark place. Let Thy presence dissolve difficulties as the sun dissolves the glacier. Speak through Thy servant who knows Thee, let her words be as Abigail's was to David, a blessed interposition of Thy grace to restrain sin. Uncover what is hidden, destroy what is idolatrous, and set Thyself upon the throne of these hearts. Keep Thy child who now cries to Thee, preserve his life, his eyes from tears and his feet from falling, and give him grace to rest in Thy sovereign hand. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus Christ has offered Himself to divine justice for sinners, and through Him we have access. Amen.
