The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in bringing this situation before our Mighty and Powerful God together in Jesus' name, asking for His truth, justice, and mercy to prevail.

We thank God for the former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen her and speak through her as a light in her family. We pray that her godly influence would not be silenced and that her brother would have ears to hear. As it is written, you are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Matthew 5:14, and we pray she will continue to shine that light faithfully.

We must also address what you have revealed with biblical clarity. If the former landlord had a sexual relationship with a woman outside of marriage, Scripture calls this sin. We are told to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18. Whether this was fornication or adultery, it is outside of God's design for marriage between a man and a woman and it separates us from God and harms all involved. We also grieve the report of a life-threatening apartment being rented to you, which fails to love a neighbor as oneself, and the allegation that people were hired to try to kill you. You shall not murder. Exodus 20:13. These are grave evils that God sees and will judge, and we rebuke this darkness in Jesus' name. We also agree with you in praying against idolatry, for God has commanded, You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3. Anything that is put before God, whether it be money, power, lust, or control, is an idol that must be torn down.

We join you in praying that the sister is not kept in the dark. We ask our Father to expose what has been hidden, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. Luke 8:17. We pray that the truth about the dangerous condition of the apartment and about the immoral relationship and the alleged plot to harm you would be made known, so that sin can be confronted and repentance can be sought. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. Ephesians 5:11.

We pray together now for both the former landlord and his sister to put God first above all else, for we are promised, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. We ask God to expose and destroy every idol in their lives and in this situation, that they would turn from idols to serve the living and true God, and that the former landlord would be brought to conviction, confession, and true repentance.

Father, we lift up the one who submitted this request to You. We ask for Your divine protection, for Your angel to encamp around those who fear You, as You promise The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Psalm 34:7. Heal the trauma and fear from living in danger and from being threatened, and grant wisdom for any lawful steps that should be taken for protection and justice, remembering that vengeance belongs to You. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. We trust You as the righteous Judge to act.

We pray all of this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach God and be saved. We ask that Your will be done and that Your name be glorified through truth being revealed and lives being changed. Amen.

We appreciate you sharing this burden with us. We hear how heavy this housing situation has been for you, and how deeply you want truth to come to light and for the Lord to be honored by everyone involved.

We join you in praying for the landlord's sister and thank God for her faith. We are asking that God would continue to encourage her and give her wisdom in how she loves both you and her brother, and that whatever is true and needs to be known would come out in a clear and healthy way in His timing.

We also understand the fear and frustration you felt in that apartment and with the other person involved. We are praying for your safety and peace as you place these concerns in God's hands, and for wisdom to know how to step forward well. If you are carrying a lot of worry from this, it can help to share it steadily with a trusted pastor or counselor who knows you, so you are not holding it alone.

Father, we lift this sister to You and ask You to strengthen her walk with You and use her life for good. We lift our friend to You and ask for protection, for clarity, and for rest as You work. Expose what needs to be exposed and help each person involved to put You first and turn from anything that takes Your place. Give wisdom for next steps and quiet confidence that You see and care. We have heard your cry and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who hears the prayer of the afflicted and who will not suffer His truth to be hidden in darkness.

We pray that the Lord will continue to uphold and strengthen the sister who has faith in Jesus Christ, that He will give her wisdom and boldness to speak His Word faithfully, and that her life and testimony may be used to point her brother to repentance and to salvation through Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. We pray that what has been concealed will be brought into the light, that she will not be kept in ignorance concerning the condition of the apartment that was rented to you, nor concerning the sin that has surrounded it, for the Lord brings hidden things to light in His perfect time.

Concerning the sexual relationship you mention, we do not ask God to bless what He calls sin. His Word teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy belongs only within that covenant. We therefore pray that both the former landlord and the woman would be convicted of sin, that they would turn from immorality and from every idol that has taken the place of God in their hearts, and that they would put the Lord first and seek His mercy in Christ. We pray as you have asked that our mighty God would expose and destroy every idol, for He breaks down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him, and He will dry up that which is rooted in the creature and not in Himself. Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

We also bring before the Lord your concern for your own safety. If you have been placed in a dwelling that endangers life, and if there have been threats or attempts against your life, we pray for the Lord's protection and deliverance, for He grants protection to the persecuted and brings the darkest conspiracy to confusion. We pray that justice would be done, that truth would be made known, that those who do evil would be restrained, and that you would be kept in perfect peace as you trust in Him and walk in obedience to His Word.

May the Lord cleanse the heart as well as the outward life, and may He draw all who are involved to the foot of the cross, to repentance and to newness of life. We pray that you also will abide near to Christ, keep yourself from all that would draw you from His love, and rest in His everlasting love which He has declared to His people.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, expose what is hidden, destroy every idol, turn sinners from their sin, protect the vulnerable, and let Thy name alone be exalted. Amen.
