The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in prayer for this situation and we thank God for the former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord strengthens her and continues to speak through her as a vessel of truth and grace, and that her witness would be a positive influence that draws her brother toward repentance and the fear of the Lord.

We hear your concern that the truth about the life threatening condition of the apartment that was rented to you would be hidden from her, and your concern about the immoral relationship and the grave harm you believe was intended against you. We bring all of this before our Mighty and Powerful God who sees all things and judges righteously. For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17. We pray that God exposes what has been kept in darkness and brings it into the light, that there would be no more deception. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them Eph 5:11. We pray that this sister is not kept in the dark but is given wisdom and discernment to see clearly and to speak the truth in love Eph 4:15, and that she will have boldness to call her brother to account and to point him to Christ.

We must address what you have shared about the sexual relationship outside of marriage. The Word of God is clear that such intimacy is reserved for marriage between a man and a woman, and that sex outside of marriage is fornication and adultery which God will judge. Flee sexual immorality 1 Cor 6:18 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Heb 13:4. We pray that both the former landlord and the woman involved would be convicted of this sin, that they would turn from it, repent, and pursue purity and holiness before the Lord. We pray they would no longer walk in immorality but would put God first in all things. But seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matt 6:33. You shall have no other gods before me Exod 20:3. We pray with you that every idol in their lives, whether it be money, lust, power, or self, would be exposed and destroyed, and that they would worship and serve the living God alone. Little children, keep yourselves from idols 1 John 5:21.

We also lift you up for protection and justice. The attempt to harm your life is a very serious matter. We thank God that you are alive and we pray for your continued safety. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. We ask the Lord to be your refuge and fortress, to surround you with His protection and to let no weapon formed against you prosper. We pray that God in His sovereignty would bring justice and that the authorities would act righteously if crimes have been committed, for God has established authorities to restrain evil. At the same time we remember that vengeance belongs to the Lord. Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to Gods wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Rom 12:19. We pray you will be able to entrust this deep hurt to Him, seeking both truth and mercy, and that you will be kept from bitterness while still pursuing what is right and lawful for your protection. If you remain in danger we encourage you to seek help from the proper authorities and from trusted godly counsel as you continue to pray.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to Your throne. We lift up this sister in Christ and ask You to anoint her lips and her life, to give her courage, wisdom and love as she speaks truth to her brother. Remove any veil of deception and let nothing remain hidden. Expose the dangerous condition of that apartment and all wrongdoing, and destroy every idol that has taken Your place in these hearts. Bring the former landlord and this woman to repentance for sexual immorality and for any evil intent or action, that they would turn from sin and put You first, seeking Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. Protect our friend who has asked for prayer, guard his life, heal any trauma and fear, and lead him in Your peace and justice. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified in all of this. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We have been holding your request before the Lord and we can hear how much weight you have been carrying with this housing situation and the conflict that followed. It is understandable to want truth to come into the light and to want people who know the Lord to be a steady, honest influence.

We are joining you in praying for the landlord's sister, that the Lord would keep strengthening her faith and give her wisdom and courage to speak with grace and truth where she has opportunity. We are also praying for your former landlord, that God would draw his heart toward what matters most and help him see clearly what needs to change.

We have heard your burden and we join you in prayer before the Lord who reigns over all things and does all from good and wise reasons for the display of His own perfections.

We thank God for the sister who has faith in Jesus Christ, for it is by His ransom alone that any are delivered from going down to the pit. We pray that the Lord will keep her near Himself, store her mind with His knowledge and His glory, and continue to speak through her with clarity and courage. May she walk in the light and be given discernment and opportunity to speak the truth in love, that nothing needful remains hidden from her, and that her witness may be used by the Spirit to turn those who hear from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God.

We pray for the former landlord, that God in mercy would break down every idol and everything that sets itself up in opposition to Him. The Lord casts down the mighty from their seats and lifts the poor from the dunghill, and He has declared that He will dry up every green tree that glories in the creature apart from Him. We ask that every false refuge, every love of gain or self will, and every sinful entanglement be exposed and destroyed, not that the sinner may be crushed without hope, but that he may be delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, for He has ordained that sexual union belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and all that lies outside that covenant is to be repented of and forsaken. We pray therefore that where there has been immorality, God would bring deep conviction, godly sorrow, and true repentance, and that both souls would put God first and seek forgiveness through the blood of Christ alone.

Concerning the apartment and the great distress and fear you have endured, we pray for your protection and deliverance. Your afflictions, though they have come through the malice or neglect of others, lie within the fence of omnipotent overruling. The Lord chastens His own as a Father, not as a judge executing punitive justice, and even the sharpest trial may be made profitable when it drives us to our Rock and to our Ark. We pray that the Lord will be gracious unto you and say, Deliver him from going down to the pit, for He has found a ransom. May He deliver you from all evil, from the snare of evil company, and from every plan of harm, and bring truth into the light, for there is nothing hidden that He will not uncover in His perfect time.

We pray that both the brother and sister would seek first the kingdom of God, that every idol would be exposed and cast down, and that Christ alone would be enthroned in their hearts. May the Lord who alone can loosen the captive put forth His supernatural power to save, to sanctify, and to keep.

We will continue to pray that you shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord, rejoicing that He who permitted the trial is also mighty to save and to keep you in peace within His borders until He brings you into full sunlight of His love.

We are joining you in prayer and bringing these burdens before the Lord who sees all things clearly and judges with perfect righteousness and mercy.

We pray for the sister who trusts in Jesus, that the Lord would strengthen her faith, keep her close to His word, and give her wisdom and courage to speak the truth in love. We ask that her life and words would be a faithful witness to the grace of God and that God would use her influence for good, always to point others to repentance and to Christ alone for salvation.

We pray for her brother, your former landlord, that he would put God first and turn to the Lord with a whole heart. We pray that any sexual relationship outside of marriage would be brought under conviction, not blessed or continued, but repented of and forsaken, for God calls His people to live soberly, righteously and godly, and to keep the marriage covenant pure as the union of one man and one woman. We ask that God would lead both him and the woman involved to see their need for forgiveness through Jesus Christ and to walk in holiness.

We also pray that what has been hidden would be brought into the light. If the apartment was dangerous and life threatening, we ask God to expose the truth so it is not kept in the dark, and to protect you and others from harm. Where there has been wrongdoing, intimidation, or threats to your life, we pray for God's protection over you, for truth to be revealed, and for justice to be done through rightful means. If you are in danger, please seek safety and help from trusted pastors and from the proper authorities as well as through prayer.

We join you in praying that our mighty God would expose and tear down every idol that competes for the heart, whether it is money, power, lust, or self, and that He would be enthroned as first in every life concerned. May He replace idolatry with worship of Christ, who by one offering has perfected those who are being sanctified and who will bring all His enemies under His feet.

May the Lord guard you, give you peace as you trust Him, and lead you in wisdom. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, asking not for God to affirm what is against His word, but for Him to bring repentance, truth, healing, and holiness for His glory.
