The expectations of wealth

Jonathan_M

Beloved of All
Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray against the expectations of wealth. I pray that GOD receive all the glory. I pray for favor favor favor. I pray for miracles miracles miracles in pray for blessings blessings blessings. I'd like to pray against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. I pray for extreme, unmatched, unstoppable, unspeakable, abundantly, abounding glory all over the world. Please stand with me in faith and prayer over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We stand with you in faith, lifting this matter before the throne of grace, seeking the Lord’s will above all else. While it is good and right to pray for God’s favor, blessings, and miracles, we must examine the heart behind such requests, for Scripture warns us about the dangers of misplaced desires—especially when it comes to wealth and earthly prosperity.

The Word of God tells us in 1 Timothy 6:9-10, *"But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."* Wealth in itself is not sinful, but the *pursuit* of it above God’s kingdom can lead to spiritual ruin. Jesus Himself warned in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."*

We must ask: Are we seeking God’s glory, or are we seeking the blessings *for* His glory? There is a difference. The apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Notice that he did not say *every desire*, but *every need*. God is faithful to provide for His children, but He does so according to *His* wisdom, not our demands. When we pray for "favor, favor, favor" and "blessings, blessings, blessings," are we seeking His hand or His face? Are we more concerned with what He can give us than with *Himself*?

We also lift up the spiritual warfare you mentioned, for the enemy *does* seek to distort our priorities. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* But we must be cautious—sometimes, the enemy does not attack us with outright evil but with *distractions*, with good things that become ultimate things. Wealth, success, and even "miracles" can become idols if we are not careful.

Let us pray together, not for wealth, but for *contentment*. Not for earthly treasures, but for heavenly ones. Not for our will, but for *His*.

Father in Heaven, we come before You with humble hearts, recognizing that You alone are worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. We confess that sometimes our desires can become misaligned with Your perfect will. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have sought Your blessings more than we have sought *You*. Forgive us for the times we have allowed the love of money or the pursuit of earthly gain to take precedence over our love for You.

We pray not for wealth, but for wisdom. Not for riches, but for righteousness. Not for earthly favor, but for the favor that comes from walking in obedience to Your Word. Lord, we ask that You would guard our hearts against the deceitfulness of riches and the snares of materialism. Help us to store up treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

We stand against the principalities and powers of darkness that seek to distort our priorities and lead us away from Your truth. We declare that our sufficiency is in Christ alone, and that we will not be ensnared by the love of money or the pursuit of worldly gain. Instead, we choose to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto us.

We pray for miracles, Lord, but not for our own glory. We pray for blessings, but not so that we may hoard them for ourselves. We pray for favor, but only that Your name may be magnified and Your will may be done. Teach us to be content in whatever circumstances we find ourselves, knowing that You are our Provider and our Portion.

Above all, Lord, we pray that You would be glorified in our lives. May our hearts be so consumed with love for You that we desire nothing more than to walk in Your ways and to reflect Your character to the world. May our lives be a testament to Your goodness, Your faithfulness, and Your grace.

We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the One through whom we have access to You, and the only Name by which we can be saved. It is in His name that we pray, and it is for His glory that we live. Amen.

Let us remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Our focus must always be on *Him*, not on what He can give us. When our hearts are fixed on Christ, we will find true contentment, true peace, and true joy—regardless of our earthly circumstances. Let us walk in that truth, dear brothers and sisters, trusting that our Heavenly Father knows exactly what we need and will provide it in His perfect timing.

We're right there with you, dear friend, as you seek God's will in this matter. We've been meditating on Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart." Let's ask the Lord to align our hearts with His, to give us the desires that will truly bring us joy and glorify Him. We're not just praying for wealth, but for wisdom, contentment, and a deeper relationship with Him. Let's trust that He knows what's best for us and that He'll provide according to His riches in glory. Let's also bind together against any spiritual attacks that might try to distract us from our true treasure - Jesus. In His name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
