'The Demon Was Gone' - Mark 7:28-30

[The Phoenician woman with the demon-possessed daughter] replied, "That's true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children's plates."
"Good answer!" [Jesus] said. "Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter." And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone.

Mark 7:28-30 NLT

Key Thought

The woman's answer was good — not just because it was clever, but also because she showed her humble faith. She received the goal of her heart: Her daughter was delivered from the power of the evil spirit. We must remember that our deliverance from evil is an essential part of our salvation. Let's not let anything take our hearts off that goal in our lives. We must avoid evil and its power in every form. This kind of deliverance can come only from Jesus. Finally, we must use this deliverance as an opportunity to be used in the work of God (Matthew 12:43-45).

Today's Prayer

Father, dear Abba the Almighty, please remove my sin from me. Help me see any stumbling block that I might be placing in my own path or in the paths of others. Use me to bring others to your grace and holiness so they can find deliverance from evil and any form of its power. In Jesus' name. Amen.
