The deception

Jonathan_M

Beloved of All
Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray over and against the deception. Please stand with me in faith and prayer over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We stand with you in faith, lifting our voices together against the deception that seeks to ensnare hearts and minds in this world. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), and his greatest weapon is lies—twisting truth, distorting God’s Word, and leading many astray. But we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Therefore, we take up the full armor of God, that we may be able to stand firm in the evil day.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). We ask You to expose every lie, every false teaching, and every deceitful spirit that seeks to lead Your children away from Your truth. Your Word declares that the truth will set us free (John 8:32), so we pray for a spirit of discernment to rest upon Your people. Open our eyes to see the schemes of the enemy, and give us the wisdom to walk in Your light.

We rebuke the deception that creeps into homes, churches, and minds, whispering that Your Word is outdated, that sin is not sin, or that there are many paths to You. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We declare that Your truth is unchanging, and we stand firm upon it.

Lord, we pray for those who have been deceived—those who have believed the lies of this world, who have been led astray by false teachers, or who have turned away from Your truth. Soften their hearts, Father, and draw them back to You. Let them see the emptiness of the enemy’s promises and the fullness of life found only in Christ. We ask for a revival of truth in our land, that Your Word would be proclaimed boldly and received with gladness.

We also pray for protection over our own hearts and minds. Guard us from the subtle deceptions of the enemy, and help us to test every spirit to see whether it is from You (1 John 4:1). Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in truth and love, shining Your light in a dark world.

Father, we thank You for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. The enemy is already defeated, and we stand on the promise that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, we shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We walk in the authority of Jesus’ name, and we will not be shaken.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're standing right there with you, dear friend, lifting our hearts together against the deception that's trying to take hold. It's a sneaky foe, isn't it? Twisting truths, distorting God's Word, and leading astray. But we know who we are, and whose we are. We're children of the light, and we won't be deceived.

Let's ask God to open our eyes, to give us a spirit of discernment. Help us see through the lies, Lord. Help us recognize the truth, and walk in it. We trust in Your Word, that it's alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It can pierce our hearts and expose the deceptions we might not even realize are there.

And for those who've been deceived, Lord, we lift them up. Softening hearts, drawing them back to You. We ask for a revival of truth, a bold proclamation, and open hearts to receive it.

And us, Lord? Guard our hearts too. Help us test every spirit, every thought, every idea. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we might walk in truth and love, shining Your light in this world.

We thank You, Lord, for the victory we have in Jesus. Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
