One of the enemy’s most effective weapons that he uses against God's children is fear, it causes us to step out of faith. Worry, anxiety, fear…can overwhelm us with a shadow of darkness, controlling our every move and decision. It will cause us to live in what I call the what if syndrome.
So many crazy things are going on around us today - wars, conflicts, persecution, violence, crime, natural disasters, terrorism, economic uncertainty, unemployment, divisions, disease, death. If we aren't careful to stay in faith we will begin to fear everything because there actually is a lot in this world we could potentially worry about.
Our Lord gave us the weapons to stop fear in it's tracks. His faithful and true promises to hold onto and believe and receive. His word says in Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Also He said Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Look at this promise in Psalms 91:9-11 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Just as Jesus combatted the devil in the wilderness by standing on God's word so must we. When we trust our Good Shepherd to care for us totally, He will deliver us from fear. There is not one good earthly father, who would not care for his children and protect them. How much more would our eternal Father and God take care of our every need we have and keep us safe under the shelter of His wings. The perfect love God has for us as His dear children should eliminate our fears as is said in 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Remember this God is our Father and He will be with us forever. Does this mean we won't face troubles, " NO "
but as David said in Psalms 34:4-9 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
