Friends, I don't know about you, but I know when I am going through painful trials, I feel like I lack patience which I know is needful according to the word of God. As I pondered the scriptures I noticed some things that Jesus said, John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Jesus said in this world were going to have troubles and on that, I believe we all can agree. I noticed a couple more points he made, He said In Him we might have peace and be of good cheer. Wow when trials are hammering down most of us aren't feeling very cheerful and most of us aren't feeling at peace.
I started looking at more scriptures and found out how Jesus could say these things. Let's look at some of those scriptures and see how we can have peace and be of good cheer.
Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 34:6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
Psalm 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Psalm 34:17
The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen
If you are a true child of God, you have these comforting promises that our Lord has given you. He will deliver you from your troubles and trials, and our Lord will go with you through them. Just in knowing that, we can rest assured he will see us through and we can have peace and joy in Him. Our part in this is to trust Him and to wait patiently upon Him. My friend rest assured He is going to deliver you for He has promised.
