He keeps sneaking up on us and trying to be an annoyance BUT we must learn that he's puny in comparison to our Lord!
Also, he is the father of all lies. So, why exactly do we listen to him, let alone believe him?
Why do we build altars to the fears and worries that he presents to us?
We hear these thoughts in our heads (and in our hearts) and instead of clinging to the promises of the Lord, we belittle the cross and elevate these doubts and fears above the Lord. How wicked of us, to let anything be held above the Lord.
The Lord is God and He is able. He is greater than all things.
We must NOT let fear take the place of where the Lord should be enthroned.
Our hearts were meant to enthrone the Lord.
Not to contain worry, depression, or doubt...
Did you even realize that you could idolize the lies that the devil has presented to you?
If the devil says to you that you are "incapable" or have this or that emotional/psychological malfunction,
we like to believe him. But it's all silly nonsense.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I will not accept a label from the father of all lies.
When he threatens me, I will peer back with defiance towards the attack and with reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ.
When he attacks my emotions, I will pray harder.
When I feel selfish and unable, I will trust in the Lord and draw close to Him, who will change me as He has promised.
When my friends are under attack and everything in the physical looks grim, I will pray harder and trust in the Lord's goodness.
If I am attacked, let me fight harder with my prayers against the pathetic taunts of the devil.
Does he really think that he can convince me that my God cannot overcome anything that he dares to try?
And if God allows whatever trial comes my way, I know that He will draw me to Himself,
and how blessed I am to be drawn closer to Him.
Thank You Jesus that You never leave us or forsake us.
Thank You Lord that You love us so deeply.
In You, I will never be shaken.
Let me remain in You.
Forever.
Amen.
I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:1-2
