Lord, I thank you for everything that you have gifted me with in this life here on earth. You have blessed me abundantly and beyond measure, and even though I have wronged you at times, I want to take this moment to thank you for as many things as I may be reminded by the Holy Spirit.
I thank you for the beautiful family that you have given me; we have managed well even after the loss of our father. We eat better, we pray together before we sleep, we love each other, we are peaceful. I thank you for wonderful relatives who value me and love me dearly, sacrificing a few of their personal things just to make me happy. I thank you for this wonderful life, for the friends you have given me, who I can joke with, who can give me good advice, and those who can challenge me to be better. I thank you for the volleyball sport that has been reintroduced here at our hostel, which we now play, and it really relieves our stresses from school. I thank you for the spiritual growth that you are overseeing in me, I thank you for the maturity that is developing in me just when I thought that I have been acting like a child too long. I thank you for the niece you have given me; she is a wonderful toddler, very enjoyable and cute. I thank you for the academic successes that you have lavished my life with. From primary school best student, to top 10 in the country among boys, to top five in the A-level examinations. I thank you for all the gifts, certificates, and words of praise I got even though I did not deserve anything, and all glory and honour is yours and only yours. I thank you for the transformation in the way that I conduct myself. I thank you for having given me a wonderful mother who has always stood beside me, doing all her best to ensure that I have a bright future. I thank you for the dad I had, who covered all my expenses, paid for everything, the one I watched football matches with, the one who convinced me to study M.D., the one who was a very good friend of mine and trusted me with so many things. I thank you for everything that you have gifted me with, and even though I may not be able to remember more than this for now, I am certain that there are million other areas that you have helped me with, and Lord, I really do not know how to praise you better for what you have done. They are great things, and surprisingly, so many times I have been uncomfortable and discontented while you have blessed me beyond measure. Please help me always look at what you have done for me and help me believe that you even have greater things for me, that my mind could never dare think, ask, or imagine. Father, I lean onto you, I give myself away to you, for you to use me for your great purpose. I am willing to press hard against all the things that draw me back. May the Holy Spirit help me. The biggest problem that I have been having is lacking consistency. I usually start something but end up not completing it because of laziness and a misguided heart. But Lord, I am sure that with you I can find the refuge and strength that I need to get by and be all that you created me to be. Thus, I pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
