We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, recognizing the struggles and temptations laid before us in this request. First, we must address the matter of substance use and abuse with clarity and truth, as Scripture commands us to be sober-minded and self-controlled (1 Peter 5:8). The Bible warns us against being mastered by anything other than Christ (1 Corinthians 6:12), and the pursuit of mind-altering substances—whether legal or illegal—can quickly become a snare that leads to bondage rather than freedom.

We rebuke the glorification of drugs, including marijuana, Ritalin, Adderall, cocaine, MDMA, and others, as these are not the means by which God intends for us to cope with life’s challenges or enhance our abilities. The apostle Paul writes, "Do not be drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). True enhancement of study, focus, and life comes from walking in the Spirit, not from chemical dependence. We must also warn against the dangers of synthesizing or propagating illegal substances, as these actions are not only unlawful but also lead to destruction (Proverbs 14:12).

We are concerned by the mention of past interest in synthesizing cocaine and MDMA, as well as the fear of legal consequences. These thoughts and desires do not align with the heart of a believer who is called to pursue righteousness (2 Timothy 2:22). If these struggles are ongoing, we urge you to seek accountability, biblical counseling, and deliverance from any bondage to these temptations. Confess these struggles to the Lord, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

Regarding the request for Ritalin and Adderall to be made over-the-counter, we must caution against the misuse of prescription medications. While some may have legitimate medical needs, the Bible calls us to steward our bodies well (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and to avoid anything that could lead to addiction or harm. If you are struggling with focus or other challenges, we encourage you to seek God’s wisdom, natural remedies, and godly counsel rather than relying on pharmaceuticals as a first resort.

We are also deeply troubled by the mention of giving away nearly all your money, leaving you in a vulnerable position. The Bible teaches us to be wise stewards of our resources (Proverbs 21:20) and to provide for our own households (1 Timothy 5:8). If this was done impulsively or without godly counsel, we urge you to seek restoration and wisdom in managing your finances moving forward.

Your mention of fasting is commendable, as it is a biblical practice that draws us closer to God (Matthew 6:16-18). However, we must ensure that our fasting is accompanied by repentance, humility, and a pursuit of God’s will—not merely a means to manipulate outcomes. The Daniel Fast, in particular, is a time of consecration and seeking the Lord’s face. We encourage you to use this time to surrender your struggles, fears, and desires to Him, asking for His guidance and provision.

We also notice that while you mention Jesus, there is no clear acknowledgment of your need for salvation or a personal relationship with Him. Salvation is found in no one else, for "there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive Him as your Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9-10). Only then can you experience true peace, provision, and progress in His name.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened by the struggles shared in this request. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to cover this individual, drawing them into a deeper relationship with You. We pray against the temptations of substance abuse, illegal activities, and financial impulsivity. Father, break any chains of bondage and replace them with a hunger for Your Word and Your presence. We ask for wisdom and discernment in all decisions, particularly regarding the stewardship of their body, mind, and resources.

Lord, we lift up their fasting to You, asking that it be a time of true repentance, renewal, and consecration. May they seek Your face above all else and find their identity and purpose in You. We pray for restoration in their finances, relationships, and legal standing, trusting that You are a God who provides and redeems. Father, if they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that they would do so today, confessing Jesus as Lord and receiving the gift of salvation.

We rebuke every spirit of addiction, fear, and rebellion in Jesus’ name. We declare that this individual is more than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37) and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with Your peace, guide them with Your wisdom, and lead them into the abundant life You have promised. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, friend. We understand that life can throw us some tough curveballs, and it's okay to ask for help. We want to encourage you, first and foremost, to trust in God's love and care for you. He sees your struggles, and He's right there with you.

We hear your heart for legal marijuana, and while we may not agree on that, we understand that you're seeking a way to cope with life's challenges. But we want to remind you of the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit's work in our lives. God promises to give us strength and peace that transcends understanding (Philippians 4:7). Trust in Him to help you navigate your struggles, rather than relying on substances.

We're also praying for your financial situation. It's important to be a good steward of the resources God has given you. If you've given away nearly all your money, we encourage you to seek wisdom in managing your finances moving forward. Remember, God promises to provide for your needs (Philippians 4:19).

Your fast is commendable. It's a time to draw closer to God and seek His will. Use this time to surrender your struggles, fears, and desires to Him. Trust in His guidance and provision.

Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He loves you deeply and wants to be a part of your life. If you haven't already, we encourage you to confess your sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive Him as your Savior and Lord.

Let's pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our friend to You. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to cover them. We pray against the temptations they face and ask for Your strength to help them overcome. We ask for wisdom in all decisions, particularly regarding their finances and the stewardship of their body and mind. Lord, we lift up their fast to You, asking that it be a time of true repentance, renewal, and consecration. May they seek Your face above all else and find their identity and purpose in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
