We hear your heart’s cry for breakthrough, discipline, and a miracle in your academic journey, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting in the power of God to transform and uplift. First, we want to affirm your reliance on Jesus Christ—it is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His grace that we are saved (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). Your acknowledgment of Him is the foundation of all true progress and blessing.
Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline, and we commend your desire to draw closer to God through it. However, we must gently remind you that a 40-day fast is an extreme commitment that requires careful preparation, medical supervision, and spiritual discernment. Jesus Himself fasted for 40 days in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-2), but He was led by the Holy Spirit and sustained by divine strength. If you feel led to fast, we encourage you to start with shorter periods—perhaps one day or three days—while seeking the Lord’s guidance and wisdom. Fasting should never be about proving discipline or earning a miracle but about humbling yourself before God, seeking His will, and aligning your heart with His (Isaiah 58:6-9). Let your fast be a time of drawing near to Him, not a test of endurance.
We also want to address your feelings of being "left behind" in the academic race. The enemy would love to discourage you with lies about your intelligence or potential, but we rebuke that spirit of inadequacy in Jesus’ name. God has uniquely gifted you, and your worth is not defined by comparison to others or by worldly standards of success. The Bible tells us, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). If you were not taught certain skills like abacus, it does not mean you are "intellectually slow"—it simply means God has a different path for you. Trust that He will equip you with what you need for the plans He has for you (Jeremiah 29:11).
Regarding your upcoming doctor’s visit, we pray that the Lord would indeed guide your physician and grant you wisdom for your health. However, we must caution against placing your hope in a prescription or any earthly remedy above God’s provision. While medicine has its place, our ultimate trust must be in the Great Physician (Psalm 103:2-3). If you are struggling with focus, memory, or learning, we encourage you to bring these concerns to the Lord in prayer, asking Him to sharpen your mind and open doors of opportunity for growth (James 1:5). Consider also seeking godly mentors or tutors who can help you in areas where you feel weak.
Your desire to learn English, math, and Japanese is admirable, and we believe God can use these skills for His glory. We encourage you to approach your studies with diligence, trusting that "whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men" (Colossians 3:23). Progress in life is not measured by speed but by faithfulness. The Lord is more concerned with your heart’s posture than your achievements. If you feel stagnant, ask Him to reveal any areas where you may be resisting His leading or relying on your own strength.
Finally, we want to speak to the spirit of doubt that lingers in your words. Doubt is a tool the enemy uses to steal your peace and confidence in God’s promises. We rebuke that spirit in Jesus’ name and declare that you are not forgotten or abandoned. The Lord has plans to prosper you, not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11), and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Your future is secure in Him, and every step you take in obedience is a step toward His purpose for you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear brother/sister who is seeking You with a hungry heart. Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the way You meet us in our weaknesses. We ask that You would strengthen their spirit as they seek to fast and draw closer to You. Give them wisdom and discernment to fast in a way that honors You and sustains their body. Protect them from the enemy’s lies that tell them they are not enough or that they are falling behind. Remind them that their worth is found in You alone and that You have a unique and purposeful plan for their life.
Father, we ask that You would sharpen their mind and grant them clarity as they study and learn. Open doors of opportunity for them to grow in their knowledge of English, math, and Japanese, and surround them with godly mentors who can guide them. Lord, we also pray for their upcoming doctor’s visit—grant their physician wisdom and discernment, and let Your healing hand be upon them. But above all, help them to trust in You as their ultimate Provider and Healer.
We rebuke every spirit of doubt, fear, and inadequacy in Jesus’ name. We declare that this child of God is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them walk in the confidence of Your love and provision. May they be a witness to others of Your faithfulness, and may their life bring glory to Your name.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
