Jesus Christ, please help me. I have my doctor's appointment tomorrow, and I'm trying to be prescribed Ritalin. My current medications are fluoxetine 20mg and Risperidone 1mg that treat depression, Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and autism. I've been drinking coffee and Diet Coke. I'm typing the holy bible and have submitted prayers. I've completed multiple Daniel fasts; refraining from eating for autophagy and typing the bible. I've been sleeping for 12 hours a day. There's a major decrease in masturbation. I have fully quit smoking tobacco. Previous Buproprion use removed tobacco cravings. There's no alcohol or marijuana use. I've been sober from cocaine and Adderall for 4 years. I'm suffering from ADHD, distraction from fear, and previous side effects of cocaine use. Three wisdom teeth removals are also causing distractions and disruptions. I believe there is also a side effect from accepting the laughing gas during the dental operation. My hope is for a Ritalin prescription to be prescribed in the morning to help me complete routine, exercise, and study. I'm suffering from ADHD, fears that cause distraction, and have to overcome academic underachievement. I suffer from tinnitus and fear that the current medication is helping me with the depression. I have rare suicidal ideation and despair. Jesus Christ, please help me acquire a Ritalin prescription. I have to keep reading the bible and would have to self-teach myself with free college resources algebra to calculus. There's a lot of studying to do, and I'm afraid of driving. I was also trying to learn Japanese. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace, where we find mercy and help in time of need. Your journey of discipline—fasting, typing the Word, overcoming addictions, and seeking sobriety—shows a heart that desires to honor God, and we rejoice in the progress you’ve made. Yet we also see the weight you carry: the struggle with mental health, the fear of underachievement, the physical and emotional distractions, and the longing for focus and stability. We stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to meet you in every area of need.

First, we must address your request for Ritalin with both compassion and biblical wisdom. While we understand your desire for relief from ADHD symptoms and the challenges of distraction, we urge you to seek God’s will above all else. The Lord is your healer (Exodus 15:26), and while medication can be a tool He uses, it must never replace our dependence on Him. We pray that your doctor’s appointment tomorrow would be guided by wisdom, not just for a prescription, but for a holistic plan that honors God’s design for your mind and body. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

We also want to gently address the areas where your struggles may be rooted in habits or fears that need surrender. Your mention of masturbation, though decreased, is still a concern, as it is a form of sexual immorality that can hinder your spiritual growth (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We rebuke the lies of shame and isolation in this area and pray for the Holy Spirit to strengthen you in purity and self-control. Similarly, your reliance on caffeine (coffee and Diet Coke) may be exacerbating anxiety or sleep disturbances, which can worsen ADHD symptoms. We encourage you to consider reducing or eliminating these stimulants, trusting God to provide natural energy and focus through prayer, rest, and proper nutrition.

Your fear of driving, academic pressures, and the overwhelm of studying multiple subjects are valid burdens, but we declare that the Lord is your peace (John 14:27). He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray for supernatural focus and discipline as you study, that the Lord would illuminate His Word and your academic pursuits, making your path clear. If you are feeling called to learn Japanese or advance in math, we ask God to open doors of opportunity and provide mentors or resources to guide you. But we also caution against overloading yourself—seek balance, and trust God to order your steps (Psalm 37:23).

Your rare suicidal ideation and despair are not to be taken lightly. We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and declare that the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). You are not alone in this battle. We pray for divine comfort, that the Lord would surround you with believers who can walk alongside you, and that He would reveal His purpose for your life in this season. If these thoughts persist, we strongly encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or Christian therapist who can provide godly support.

Regarding your medications, we pray for discernment for both you and your doctor. The Lord knows your body and mind intimately, and we ask Him to guide every decision about your treatment. We also pray for healing from the side effects of past cocaine use and the lingering effects of laughing gas—asking God to restore your brain chemistry and bring wholeness to your nervous system. For your tinnitus, we declare healing over your ears, trusting in the God who opens the eyes of the blind and unstopps the ears of the deaf (Isaiah 35:5).

Finally, we want to affirm your identity in Christ. You are not defined by your diagnoses, your past struggles, or your academic performance. You are a beloved child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and He has a plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, that you would walk in the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May you experience the fullness of life that Jesus came to give (John 10:10).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up every area of his life to You. Lord, You see his heart—his desire to serve You, his struggles with focus and fear, and his longing for healing. We ask for Your wisdom to guide his doctor’s appointment tomorrow, that every decision made would align with Your will for his life. Provide him with the tools he needs, whether through medication, therapy, or supernatural intervention, to manage his ADHD and mental health in a way that glorifies You.

We rebuke the spirit of distraction and fear, declaring that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Strengthen his mind, Lord, and help him to fix his thoughts on You (Isaiah 26:3). We pray for discipline in his studies, that You would grant him focus, retention, and joy in learning. Open doors for him to access free or affordable resources to grow academically, and surround him with mentors who can encourage him.

Father, we ask for healing in his body—from the tinnitus, the lingering effects of past substance use, and the dental disruptions. Restore his nervous system, calm his anxieties, and bring peace to his mind. We also pray for his sleep patterns, that You would regulate his rest and give him the energy he needs each day.

Lord, we break the power of sexual immorality in his life, asking for a renewed mind and a heart that desires purity. Strengthen him to resist temptation and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in holiness. We also ask for Your protection over his sobriety, that the cravings for past addictions would remain far from him.

Above all, we pray for a deep encounter with Your presence, Jesus. Draw him closer to You, that he may know You more intimately and experience the fullness of life You offer. Remind him daily that his worth is found in You alone, not in his achievements or his struggles. Surround him with a community of believers who can uplift him, pray for him, and walk with him in this season.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. May Your will be done in his life, and may he experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Amen.
