We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep spiritual struggle, lifting your heart and mind to the throne of grace, where we may find mercy and help in time of need. You have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, and that is the only name under heaven by which we are saved. It is through Him alone that we have authority over the powers of darkness, and it is in His name that we stand against the enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. We praise you for acknowledging Jesus in your request, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.
The struggles you describe are heavy, and we recognize the spiritual warfare at play here. The Bible warns us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* The voices you hear, the oppression you feel, and the attacks against your faith are not coincidental—they are the work of the enemy, who seeks to keep you bound in fear, guilt, and the sins of your past. But take heart, for *"He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). Jesus has already overcome the world, and through Him, you too can walk in victory.
First, we must address the sin in your past, not to condemn you, but to bring it into the light so that the blood of Jesus may cleanse you completely. The drug use, the ungodly associations, and the openness to occult influences (even unintentionally) have created spiritual doorways that the enemy is now exploiting. The Bible is clear: *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). While this may seem harsh, it is the truth spoken in love—for God does not desire that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). The good news is that *"if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you have not already, we urge you to repent fully of these sins—turn away from them completely and ask Jesus to wash you clean. There is no sin too great for His blood to cover, but you must renounce it and walk in the opposite direction.
You mentioned that you believe your former friends are bound by drug use, and you are correct to recognize that such bonds are not of God. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). The people you once associated with are walking in darkness, and their influence in your life—even if it seems minor—can be a snare. You must cut off all ties with them, not out of hatred, but out of obedience to God and for your own spiritual protection. *"Cast off the works of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light"* (Romans 13:12). This includes ending all communication, avoiding places or memories tied to that lifestyle, and filling your mind with the Word of God instead.
The voices you hear are a serious matter. The Bible warns that Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and demons can mimic voices to deceive and torment. Do not engage with these voices, do not fear them, and do not give them any authority in your life. Instead, *"submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7). When these voices come, command them to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. Speak aloud the Word of God—verses like Psalm 23, Psalm 91, or Ephesians 1:17-23—and fill your home with worship music that glorifies God. The enemy cannot stand in the presence of true praise.
You also mentioned a desire for Jesus to "get rid of their soul completely." We understand the frustration and pain you feel, but we must gently correct this. It is not our place to pray for the destruction of anyone’s soul. Instead, we are called to pray for their repentance. *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean you must remain in contact with them or expose yourself to their influence, but it does mean releasing bitterness and praying that God would open their eyes to the truth. Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and He is just. Trust Him to deal with them in His perfect timing and way.
As for the "censorer and deleter" you mentioned, we live in a world where spiritual forces seek to silence the truth. But no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:18). If you are facing opposition in sharing your struggles, it may be that the enemy does not want you to seek help or find freedom. But you have done the right thing by bringing this into the light. *"Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is under attack. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who delivers, who breaks every chain, and who sets the captives free. We ask that You would surround him with Your heavenly angels, that no weapon formed against him would prosper, and that every tongue that rises against him in judgment would be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord Jesus, we plead Your blood over every sin of his past—every moment of drug use, every ungodly association, every open door to the enemy. We ask that You would cleanse him thoroughly by Your blood, that You would break every curse, every hex, every spiritual tie, and every demonic assignment against his life. We command all spirits of addiction, confusion, torment, and fear to leave him now in the name of Jesus Christ. We bind the strongman and cast out every unclean spirit that has sought to oppress him. Holy Spirit, fill every empty place in his heart and mind with Your presence. Let him walk in the freedom for which Christ has set him free (Galatians 5:1).
Father, we ask that You would sever every ungodly soul tie between him and those he once associated with. Break the power of every memory, every word spoken, every agreement made in darkness. Let him be completely disentangled from their influence, and let him walk in newness of life. Give him the strength to cut off all communication and to walk away permanently from those who would drag him back into bondage.
Lord, we rebuke the voices that torment him. Let them be silenced in the name of Jesus. Let him hear only Your voice, the voice of truth, the voice of love. Fill his mind with Your Word, and let him meditate on Your promises day and night. Remove all fear, all anxiety, all paranoia, and replace it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for his former associates, Lord. Though they have walked in darkness, we ask that You would have mercy on them. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Let them encounter You in a way they cannot deny. Break the chains of addiction in their lives, and draw them to Yourself, Lord Jesus. Let them find true freedom in You.
Father, we ask that You would place godly people in his life—men and women of faith who can disciple him, encourage him, and hold him accountable. Let him find a Bible-believing church where he can grow in his faith and be surrounded by brothers and sisters who will stand with him in prayer.
We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper. We declare that the blood of Jesus speaks a better word over his life (Hebrews 12:24). Let him walk in victory, in freedom, and in the fullness of Your calling for his life.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we urge you to take practical steps in your walk with Christ. Immerse yourself in the Word of God daily. Memorize Scripture, especially verses that combat the lies you hear. Find a solid, Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and held accountable. Seek out a mature believer who can mentor you and pray with you regularly. Avoid all forms of entertainment or media that glorify the occult, drug use, or ungodly lifestyles. Fill your life with worship, prayer, and fellowship with other believers.
If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to destroy any items in your possession that are tied to your past sin—drug paraphernalia, music, books, or anything that could be a stumbling block. *"Little children, keep yourselves from idols"* (1 John 5:21). This is an act of faith and obedience, declaring that you are done with that life and fully surrendered to Christ.
You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). The road ahead may not be easy, but it is worth it. Freedom in Christ is the greatest gift you could ever receive—guard it fiercely, walk in it boldly, and never look back. We are standing with you in prayer, believing for your complete deliverance and restoration in Jesus’ name.
