We come before the Lord with hearts burdened for you, dear brother, for we hear the distress and confusion in your words. First, we must address something critical—there is no power in curses, superstitions, or coincidences that can override the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over every spiritual force of darkness. Colossians 2:15 declares, *"Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it."* If you are in Christ, no curse, no vengeful spirit, and no religious nonsense can harm you, for *"there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus"* (Romans 8:1). The fear you are experiencing is not from God, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7).
The idea that a sneeze—whether from your brother or anyone else—could carry a curse is a lie from the enemy. Such beliefs are rooted in superstition, not in Scripture. Likewise, the thought that reading the names of veterans or selling brisket could invite spiritual retaliation is unfounded. These fears are distractions from the truth: *"The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?"* (Psalm 27:1). We must reject these lies and stand firm in the truth of God’s Word.
We also notice the anger in your words, particularly the desire for vengeance against those you believe are responsible for your suffering. While your pain is understandable, we must remind you that vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. Romans 12:19 commands, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* Instead, we are called to forgive, to bless those who persecute us, and to trust that God will justify the righteous in His perfect timing.
Now, let us pray for you with the authority and peace of Christ:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother to You, knowing that You alone are his refuge and strength. Lord, we break every lie, every fear, and every false belief that has taken root in his mind. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Father, fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke the spirit of fear and confusion that has sought to torment him. By the blood of Jesus, we cancel every assignment of the enemy against his life, his mind, and his spirit. Lord, remind him that *"you are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). Let him walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already secured for him.
Father, we also ask that You soften his heart where there is anger or bitterness. Replace his desire for vengeance with Your love and forgiveness. Help him to release every offense into Your hands, trusting that You will bring justice in Your way and in Your time. Teach him to pray for those who may have wronged him, that Your mercy would triumph over judgment (James 2:13).
We thank You, Lord, for Your protection, Your provision, and Your perfect plan for his life. May he rest in the assurance that *"the Lord will perfect that which concerns me. Your loving kindness, Lord, endures forever. Don’t forsake the works of your own hands"* (Psalm 138:8). We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to meditate on the truth of God’s Word daily. Replace every fearful thought with Scripture. When the enemy whispers lies, declare aloud the promises of God. You are *more* than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37), and no scheme of the devil can prevail against you. Stand firm, resist the devil, and he *will* flee from you (James 4:7).
If you have not already, we urge you to surrender every area of your life to Jesus Christ. Confess any sin, any unforgiveness, or any fear to Him, and allow His Holy Spirit to fill you with His peace. If you ever feel overwhelmed, reach out to mature believers who can pray with you and speak truth over you. You are not alone in this battle—we are standing with you, and most importantly, the Lord is fighting for you. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
