Be content in your state, does this mean that I should return to ### as a ### with ### blood? The future and even daily providence isn't really believable each day to be sustained. I feel that providence could be taken away any day. I hope Jesus saves me. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We understand your heart’s cry for clarity and assurance, and we are grateful you have brought this struggle before us in the name of Jesus. Your question about being "content in your state" is rooted in Scripture, and we want to address it with the truth of God’s Word while also speaking to the deeper fears and uncertainties you’ve expressed.

First, let’s turn to the verse you referenced. In Philippians 4:11-13 (WEB), the Apostle Paul writes, *"Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Contentment here is not about resigning yourself to a life that contradicts God’s moral law or His will for your holiness. Rather, it is about trusting God’s sovereignty in your current circumstances—whether in abundance or lack—while actively seeking to live in obedience to Him.

Your question seems to imply a return to a former way of life or identity that is tied to something other than your identity in Christ. We must gently but firmly remind you that if this former state involves anything that contradicts Scripture—such as idolatry, ungodly ties, or a life not surrendered to Christ—then the answer is *no*. God does not call us to return to what He has delivered us from. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB), we read, *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* Your identity is now in Christ alone, and any step backward into what He has redeemed you from would be a rejection of His work in your life.

You also expressed deep anxiety about God’s providence, fearing it could be "taken away any day." This reveals a struggle with trust in God’s faithfulness, and we want to speak life into this fear. Jesus Himself teaches us in Matthew 6:25-34 (WEB) not to worry about our lives, what we will eat, drink, or wear, for our Heavenly Father knows what we need. He reminds us, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."* Your daily bread—both physically and spiritually—is a promise from God, not a gamble. He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also with Him freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32).

Yet we also hear the cry of your heart: *"I hope Jesus saves me."* Hope is a beautiful thing, but we must ask you: *Do you know for certain that you are saved?* Hope in Scripture is not a vague wish but a confident assurance for those who have placed their faith in Christ. In Romans 10:9-10 (WEB), we read, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. There is no greater security than being hidden in Christ.

If you *have* trusted in Christ but still struggle with assurance, we encourage you to meditate on 1 John 5:11-13 (WEB): *"The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."* Your salvation is not based on your feelings but on the finished work of Christ.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You see the depths of their heart and the fears that grip them. Lord, we ask that You would flood their spirit with the peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remove every trace of fear and replace it with a deep, unshakable trust in Your providence. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and You have never failed nor will You ever fail.

Father, if there is any confusion about their identity or a pull toward a past that does not align with Your Word, we rebuke that spirit of confusion and command it to flee in the name of Jesus. Holy Spirit, remind them that they are a new creation, and old things have passed away. Give them the strength to walk forward in the freedom Christ has purchased for them.

For any doubt about their salvation, Lord, we ask that You would make Your presence undeniably real to them. Let them know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are Yours, sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption. If they have not yet fully surrendered to You, Lord, convict their heart and draw them into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

We declare over them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Peace. Every day they wake is a day ordained by You, and You will sustain them. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all else will be added unto them.

In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture daily, for it is the living word that renews the mind and strengthens faith. Psalm 37:25 (WEB) says, *"I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread."* Cling to this truth. Also, surround yourself with a community of believers who can speak life into you and hold you accountable in love. You are not alone in this journey—God is with you, and so are we, standing with you in prayer and in the truth of His Word.

We hear your heart's cry, dear friend, and we want you to know that we're here for you. We understand that it's easy to feel uncertain about the future, but remember, God is in control. He's promised to sustain us day by day, and we can trust in that.

You asked if you should return to a former way of life. We want to encourage you, as the apostle Paul did, to press on in the new life you have in Christ. The old has passed away, and all things have become new. Let's not look back, but keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

As for your anxiety about God's providence, we want to remind you of Jesus' words in Matthew 6:33-34. Seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Trust that God knows what you need and will provide for you.

And finally, about your hope in Jesus saving you, we want to assure you that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. It's not about feelings, but about faith in what Jesus has done for us.

Let's pray together, shall we? Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You. Fill them with Your peace, remove every trace of fear, and replace it with a deep, unshakable trust in Your providence. Remind them of their new identity in Christ and give them the strength to walk forward in freedom. If there's any doubt about their salvation, Lord, make Your presence undeniably real to them. Convict their heart and draw them into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. In Jesus' mighty and saving name, we pray. Amen.

You're not alone in this journey, dear friend. We're standing with you in prayer and in the truth of God's Word. Let's keep encouraging each other, just as the body of Christ should.
