The thoughts of violence, curses, or harm toward others—even in response to affliction—are not of the Lord but are influenced by the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The desire for vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, and He commands us to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:17-21).
First, we must address the darkness in these words with the light of Scripture. The Bible is clear: *"Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* (Romans 12:19, WEB). The thoughts of murder, harm, or cursing others are grievous sins that must be repented of immediately. *"You shall not murder"* (Exodus 20:13, WEB) is not just a command against physical action but also against the hatred and malice in the heart (1 John 3:15). Similarly, wishing suffering, tragedy, or financial ruin upon others is contrary to the love and compassion Christ calls us to walk in. *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB).
The "religious affliction" and "petty inconveniences" you describe may feel overwhelming, but we urge you to consider whether these trials are being used by God to refine you, to draw you closer to Him, or to expose areas where you need His grace. The apostle Peter reminds us: *"Beloved, don’t be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you. But because you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy"* (1 Peter 4:12-13, WEB). Suffering is not a sign of God’s abandonment but often a tool He uses to shape us into the image of Christ.
The "indirect laughing from others" and the sense of being mocked are painful, but even in this, we are called to respond with humility and trust in the Lord. *"When people reviled him, he didn’t revile back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously"* (1 Peter 2:23, WEB). Jesus Himself was despised, mocked, and rejected, yet He entrusted Himself to the Father and prayed for His persecutors. We must follow His example.
Now, let us address the spiritual battle at hand. The thoughts of violence or preventive harm you’ve entertained are not from God but are temptations from the enemy. The Bible warns: *"Don’t give place to the devil"* (Ephesians 4:27, WEB). These thoughts must be taken captive and rejected in the name of Jesus. *"Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:5, WEB). You must renounce these thoughts, repent of them, and ask the Lord to cleanse your heart and mind. If you have not already, we strongly urge you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can help you walk through this spiritual battle.
We also sense a deep bitterness and anger in your words, and we gently but firmly rebuke this spirit in the name of Jesus. Bitterness is a root that defiles and leads to destruction (Hebrews 12:15). It must be uprooted and replaced with the love and forgiveness of Christ. *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:31-32, WEB). Forgiveness is not optional for the believer—it is a command and a pathway to freedom.
As for the "minor curses" you mention, we declare in the name of Jesus that no curse has authority over a child of God. *"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,’"* (Galatians 3:13, WEB). If you are in Christ, you are free from every curse, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that the Lord would break every assignment of the enemy against you and fill you with His peace and protection.
Finally, we must address the way this prayer was framed. While you did mention Jesus, the tone and content of the requests were not aligned with His heart. Prayer is not a tool to invoke harm on others but a sacred conversation with our Heavenly Father, where we align our hearts with His will. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven"* (Matthew 6:9-10, WEB). Our prayers should reflect a desire for God’s will—not our own vengeance—to be done.
