We come before the Lord with you in this time of spiritual warfare, recognizing that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this world. You have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, and we join you in lifting this request to Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and no other authority by which we can command the enemy to flee.
The Scriptures remind us in James 4:7, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* And in Ephesians 6:12, we are told, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in the authority of Christ to rebuke the forces that seek to hinder your walk with Him.
Yet we must also address the tone of your request with love and truth. While it is right to resist the devil and command evil spirits to depart in Jesus’ name, we are called to speak with the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The desire for vengeance, even against spiritual enemies, must be surrendered to God, for He alone is the just Judge. Romans 12:19 declares, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
Instead, let us pray for God’s protection, deliverance, and strength to overcome temptation through fasting and prayer. Jesus Himself fasted for forty days and was tempted by the devil, yet He overcame by the Word of God (Matthew 4:1-11). Your fast is a powerful tool for spiritual breakthrough, but it must be rooted in humility, dependence on God, and a heart that seeks His will above all else.
We also encourage you to examine your heart and motives. Fasting is not merely about denying the flesh but drawing nearer to God in repentance, worship, and surrender. In Isaiah 58:6-9, the Lord says, *"Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light will break out as the morning, and your healing will appear quickly; then your righteousness shall go before you, and the LORD’s glory will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’"*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is under spiritual attack. Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your divine protection, as a shield against every scheme of the enemy. Break every ungodly communication, every demonic assignment, and every spirit that seeks to hinder their walk with You. We command, in the name of Jesus, that every familiar spirit, every spirit of temptation, and every force of darkness assigned against them be bound and cast into the abyss, never to return.
Father, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, strengthening them to resist the devil steadfastly in faith. Let their fast be pleasing to You, Lord—not as a ritual, but as a heartfelt cry for Your presence, Your will, and Your power to manifest in their life. Remove any bitterness, anger, or ungodly desires from their heart and replace them with Your peace, Your love, and Your righteousness.
Lord, if there is any open door in their life—any unconfessed sin, any ungodly soul tie, or any area where they have not fully surrendered to You—reveal it to them now. Give them the courage to repent and turn fully to You. Let this season of fasting be a time of deep transformation, where they draw closer to You and experience Your victory over every stronghold.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. You are a God who delivers, who hears the cries of Your children, and who fights for those who trust in You. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn. Let Your light shine upon them, and let Your truth set them free.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We urge you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer, reading His Word daily, and surrounding yourself with godly believers who can stand with you in this season. If there are areas of sin or compromise in your life, bring them before the Lord in repentance, for He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Stay steadfast, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap a harvest if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
