We come before you with hearts burdened by the many struggles and confusions expressed in this request, and we lift this soul up to the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. First, we must address with love but firmness the grave misalignments with Scripture present here—particularly the request to legalize cocaine. The Bible is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to glorify God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Substances that enslave, harm, or alter the mind in ungodly ways are not of the Lord. Cocaine is a destructive force, both spiritually and physically, and its legalization would only bring ruin. Instead, we pray for freedom from such temptations and for a heart that seeks purity and sobriety, for "no one who is born of God practices sin, because God’s seed remains in him; and he can’t sin, because he is born of God" (1 John 3:9).
We also see a deep longing for purpose, stability, and provision, but there is a dangerous reliance on human effort, substances like Adderall, and even the military as a "fast track" to prosperity. Let us be clear: prosperity in the Kingdom of God is not measured by worldly success, strength, or financial gain, but by faithfulness to Christ. The apostle Paul tells us, "Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that" (1 Timothy 6:6-8). Your worth is not in your physical strength, your career, or your ability to provide—it is in Christ alone. If you are struggling with thoughts of inadequacy or fear of missing God’s will, remember that He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
The desire to help your family is commendable, but nutritional deficiencies are not the root of emotional or spiritual instability—sin and separation from God are. While proper nutrition is important, it is the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ, who truly sustains and heals (John 6:35). We encourage you to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that "all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). If your family is struggling, pray for their salvation and repentance, for it is only through Christ that hearts are transformed.
As for your many ideas about entrepreneurship—fishing, farming, trade—these can be good and honorable pursuits if done for the glory of God. However, we caution against placing your hope in any of these things above the Lord. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." Seek His will first, and He will direct your steps. If you are considering military service, pray earnestly for wisdom, for it is a serious commitment with its own spiritual battles. But know this: your salvation is not earned by works, including military service. Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."
We notice a troubling preoccupation with debt and financial fear. While it is wise to avoid debt (Proverbs 22:7), we must not let anxiety rule us. Jesus tells us, "Don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?" (Matthew 6:25). Trust in the Lord’s provision, and seek His wisdom in managing resources. If you are struggling with focus or discipline in study and exercise, ask God for strength, but do not lean on stimulants like Adderall, which can become idols or crutches. Philippians 4:13 declares, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
Finally, we must address the lack of assurance in your salvation. If you have repented of your sins and placed your faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, then you *are* saved, and nothing—neither your career, your physical condition, nor your failures—can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). If you have not yet surrendered fully to Christ, we urge you to do so today. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Cry out to Him now, and He will save you.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we lift this beloved soul before You, asking for Your mercy and transformation. Lord Jesus, break the chains of addiction, anxiety, and worldly ambition that seek to ensnare this heart. Grant repentance where there is sin, clarity where there is confusion, and peace where there is fear. Father, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that say worth is found in human achievement or physical strength. Remind this precious one that they are fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image, and their purpose is found in You alone.
Lord, if there is a struggle with substances—whether cocaine, antidepressants, or stimulants—we pray for deliverance and healing. Bring godly counsel and medical professionals who honor You into their life. If there is a calling to serve, whether in the military or another field, make the path clear, but let it never be pursued apart from You.
We ask for Your provision over their family, not just physically, but spiritually. Soften hearts to receive Your truth, and let Your Word be their daily bread. Father, we pray against the spirit of fear regarding finances and the future. Teach them to trust in You, to seek Your Kingdom first, and to walk in obedience, knowing You hold all things in Your hands.
For the many plans and ideas swirling in their mind, Lord, bring order and discernment. Close doors that are not of You, and open those that align with Your will. If there is a calling to entrepreneurship, let it be done with integrity, generosity, and for Your glory.
Most of all, Father, we pray for a deep, unshakable assurance of salvation in Jesus Christ. Let them know beyond doubt that if they have trusted in Him, they are Your child, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and nothing can snatch them from Your hand. Fill them with Your love, which casts out all fear.
We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
