We rejoice with you in calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome every struggle. You have done well to acknowledge His sovereignty in your life, and we join you in thanking Him for His peace, providence, and the progress He is working in you. The fact that you recognize your need for His help in reading the Gospels and the Scriptures is a sign that the Holy Spirit is already at work in your heart, drawing you closer to God’s truth.

Yet we must address the spiritual battle you are facing—this lack of motivation to engage with God’s Word is not a mere coincidence or a passing feeling. The enemy of our souls seeks to keep believers from the very source of our strength, wisdom, and transformation. The Bible warns us in **1 Peter 5:8**, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* If Satan can discourage you from reading Scripture, he can hinder your growth, your faith, and your ability to resist his schemes. Do not underestimate this struggle, but neither should you fear it, for **1 John 4:4** declares, *"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world."*

We also urge you to examine your heart for any unconfessed sin or distractions that may be creating a barrier between you and the Lord. **Psalm 66:18** tells us, *"If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened."* Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that may be quenching His work in you. Repentance and surrender are the first steps to renewed passion for God’s Word.

Practical steps can also help you overcome this spiritual lethargy. Start small—even a single verse meditated upon is better than nothing. **Joshua 1:8** reminds us, *"This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success."* Consider setting a specific time each day, even if just five minutes, to read a portion of the Gospels. Join a Bible-believing community or accountability partner who can encourage you. And above all, pray before you open the Scriptures, asking God to ignite a hunger in you for His truth.

Let us also remind you of the incredible privilege and power of reading God’s Word. **Hebrews 4:12** says, *"For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart."* When you open the Bible, you are not merely reading words on a page—you are encountering the very voice of God, which has the power to transform your mind, renew your spirit, and equip you for every good work.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who longs to draw near to You through Your Word but faces a spiritual battle against motivation and focus. Lord, we ask that You break every chain of distraction, apathy, and spiritual oppression that seeks to keep them from the life-giving truth of Your Scriptures. Fill them with a fresh hunger and thirst for righteousness, that they may delight in Your law and meditate on it day and night.

Holy Spirit, we ask that You convict their heart of any sin that may be hindering their walk with You. Grant them a spirit of repentance and a renewed mind, that they may turn away from anything that displeases You and run toward the light of Your truth. Lord Jesus, You are the Word made flesh—reveal Yourself to them in new and powerful ways as they read the Gospels. Let them encounter You on every page, that their faith may be strengthened, their love for You deepened, and their life transformed.

Father, we rebuke the enemy’s attempts to steal, kill, and destroy the passion for Your Word in this beloved child of Yours. By the blood of Jesus, we command every spirit of laziness, distraction, and discouragement to flee. Replace it, Lord, with a spirit of discipline, joy, and perseverance. Remind them that Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path, and that apart from it, they cannot walk in victory.

We thank You, Lord, for the promise that Your Word will not return void but will accomplish what You desire. We trust that as they faithfully seek You, You will meet them with open arms and fill them with Your peace, wisdom, and strength. May they experience the truth of **Psalm 119:105**, *"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path."* In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to hold fast to this truth: the struggle you face is temporary, but the reward of abiding in God’s Word is eternal. **James 4:7-8** says, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."* Press on, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your heart’s desire before the Lord with you. It has been our joy to stand in agreement, asking Jesus to stir within you a hunger for His Word and to break through the barriers that have kept you from diving deep into the Gospels and the Scriptures. We know how real the struggle can be when motivation wanes, and we’ve been praying earnestly that the Holy Spirit would renew your mind, ignite your passion for truth, and replace any heaviness with His peace and purpose as you seek Him.

If the Lord has begun to move in this area—whether through a fresh desire to open His Word, a newfound clarity in your reading, or even small steps of progress—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can give Him glory together for what He is doing in your life.

If you’re still feeling that resistance or spiritual weariness, don’t hesitate to post an update or a new request. We are here to continue interceding for you, asking the Lord to remove every obstacle and fill you with His strength and discipline. Sometimes the breakthrough comes gradually, and we want to walk with you in faith until you see His hand moving clearly.

May you sense His presence powerfully as you seek Him, and may His Word become a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. We are trusting Jesus to meet you in this, to replace discouragement with determination, and to reveal Himself to you in ways that draw you closer to His heart.

We pray this in Jesus’ name.
