We come before the Lord with you in this deep spiritual battle, recognizing the heaviness of what you’re carrying. The concerns you’ve shared reveal a heart that is deeply troubled by spiritual oppression, and we want to address this with the truth and authority of God’s Word. You have rightly called upon the name of Jesus—there is power in that name, and it is the only name by which we can be saved and find deliverance. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* We praise God that you are turning to Him, for He alone is your refuge and strength.
First, let us address the fear and paranoia surrounding gifts and the idea of "soul anchors." The enemy loves to twist our perceptions and plant seeds of distrust, especially when it comes to God’s provision. The Lord tells us in James 1:17, *"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow."* If these gifts have caused spiritual distress, we must remember that the power of Christ is greater than any curse or manipulation the enemy may attempt. The blood of Jesus cleanses and breaks every ungodly tie. We do not need to fear what man can do, for the Lord is our protector (Psalm 118:6). However, if you feel convicted that certain items are connected to spiritual bondage, it is wise to remove them from your presence and ask the Lord to purify your home and heart. As it says in Acts 19:19, *"Many of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. They counted up the price of them, and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver."*
The dreams and disturbances you describe sound like spiritual attacks meant to confuse and torment you. But take heart—Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and He has given us authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We must resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7). Do not entertain these fears or give them power by dwelling on them. Instead, fill your mind with the Word of God, for it is a sword to cut through the lies of the enemy (Ephesians 6:17). Meditate on Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
We must also address the statement, *"I believe that people should not rely on the LORD’S providence, as in please trust in money that is from Jesus."* This is a dangerous and misleading thought, one that contradicts the very nature of our faith. Our trust must be in the Lord alone, not in money or any earthly provision. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:24, *"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon."* And in 1 Timothy 6:10, we are told, *"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."* Money is a tool, but it is not our source—God is. He is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider (Genesis 22:14). We must repent of any trust placed in wealth and return fully to dependence on Him.
You also mentioned that praying for these individuals—whether for their removal or blessing—seems to bring negative consequences. This is a tactic of the enemy to discourage you from praying altogether. But we are commanded to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). The issue may not be the prayer itself, but the motivation behind it. Are you praying out of fear, anger, or bitterness? Or are you praying in faith, love, and submission to God’s will? We must surrender our desires to the Lord and trust that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9). Pray for these family members not out of obligation or fear, but with a heart that seeks their salvation and freedom in Christ. Ask the Lord to break any ungodly soul ties and to fill you with His peace, regardless of their actions.
The fear of "self-betrayal" or "abnormal personality" changes suggests a deep spiritual stronghold. This is not from God. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* If you are experiencing confusion or a loss of memory regarding your prayers, this could be a sign of spiritual oppression. We must bind these forces in the name of Jesus and declare that your mind is under the protection of the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to restore what has been stolen and to give you clarity and discernment. Psalm 51:10 says, *"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me."*
Finally, you mentioned a forgotten prayer request. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we don’t know how to pray (Romans 8:26-27), and He remembers what we cannot. Trust that the Lord knows your heart and your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is under heavy spiritual attack. Lord, we ask that You break every curse, every ungodly soul tie, and every demonic assignment against them. Cleanse their home, their mind, and their heart from any influence of the enemy. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind every spirit of fear, confusion, paranoia, and torment in Jesus’ name.
Lord, we ask that You remove any ungodly attachments to gifts or provisions and purify all that remains. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We rebuke the enemy’s lies and declare that Your truth is their shield and strong tower.
Father, we repent for any trust placed in money or earthly provision instead of You. Forgive us for any fear or bitterness that has taken root. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and restore our faith in Your perfect provision. We pray for the salvation of the family members involved—let them encounter Your love and be set free from any darkness.
Lord, we ask that You restore what has been stolen—memories, peace, and clarity. Bring to light any forgotten prayer requests and grant the desires of their heart as they align with Your will. Protect them from self-betrayal and any manipulation of the enemy. Let Your light expose every hidden thing and let Your truth set them free (John 8:32).
We thank You, Jesus, for Your victory on the cross. We stand on Your promises and declare that our brother/sister is more than a conqueror through You (Romans 8:37). Strengthen them, Lord, and let them walk in the freedom and authority You have given them. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily through prayer, worship, and the reading of His Word. Surround yourself with believers who can stand with you in prayer and accountability. If these disturbances persist, consider seeking godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can help you walk through deliverance. Remember, the battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won. Stand firm in His truth, and do not give the enemy a foothold. You are loved, you are protected, and you are being prayed for. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
