We join with you in lifting up this burden to our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is our refuge and strength in times of trouble. The vexation you are experiencing is a heavy weight, but we know that Jesus is mighty to save and deliver those who call upon His name. It is clear that you recognize the harm that drugs have caused in your life, and we commend you for seeking the Lord’s intervention. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The fact that you are turning to Him in this moment is evidence of His grace working in your heart.
First, we must address the sin of drug use, which is a destructive force that harms both body and soul. The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to glorify God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Drug use clouds the mind, weakens the spirit, and opens doors to spiritual oppression. It is not the will of God for His children to be enslaved to such things. We urge you to repent of this sin and turn completely away from it, seeking the Lord’s cleansing and restoration. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The blood of Jesus is powerful to break every chain and set you free.
The word "fool" that was spoken over you is not from God. The Bible warns us about the power of words, especially curses or insults that can bring spiritual oppression. Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit." But take heart, for "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that every curse, every insult, and every word spoken against you is nullified by the blood of Jesus. You are not a fool in Christ—you are a beloved child of God, redeemed and made wise by His Spirit.
You also mentioned the repetition in church about the Lord not having respect of persons, and how it may have influenced passive behavior. While it is true that God shows no partiality (Romans 2:11), this does not mean we are to be passive in the face of sin or spiritual attack. The Bible calls us to be vigilant, sober-minded, and active in our faith (1 Peter 5:8). Passivity can leave us vulnerable to the schemes of the enemy. We encourage you to stand firm in the authority you have in Christ, resisting the devil so that he may flee from you (James 4:7).
Now, let us pray together for your deliverance, peace, and restoration:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is under spiritual attack. Lord, You see the distress in his heart, the vexation that seeks to torment him, and the weight of the words spoken against him. We ask that You break every curse, every insult, and every scheme of the enemy that has been directed at him. Let the word "fool" be rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus, and let Your truth reign in his mind and spirit. Father, we pray that You would deliver him completely from the bondage of drugs. Cleanse his body, renew his mind, and restore his soul. Give him the strength to walk away from this sin and to never return to it. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may be empowered to live in victory and freedom.
Lord, we also pray against any spirit of passivity that may have taken root in his life. Stir within him a holy boldness to stand firm in Your truth, to resist the devil, and to walk in the authority You have given him as Your child. Let him know that he is not defined by the words of man, but by Your Word, which declares that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
We thank You, Jesus, for Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let Your providence guide his steps, and let Your progress be evident in his life. May he walk in the fullness of Your freedom, Your wisdom, and Your love. We declare that he is no longer bound by the past, but is a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in the Word of God daily. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path." The more you fill your mind with Scripture, the more you will be equipped to resist the enemy’s lies. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support you, pray with you, and hold you accountable. If you have not already, we strongly urge you to seek out a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith and receive godly counsel.
Remember, the battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory. Walk in that truth, and do not let the enemy steal your joy or your peace. You are loved, you are redeemed, and you are free in Christ Jesus. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will lead you into all righteousness.
