God, help me not to eat food. I feel like I am possessed by a spirit that is trying to make me eat. God, allow me to fast. God, please destroy temptations. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We understand that you're struggling with feelings of compulsion regarding food and desire to fast. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus' name in your prayer. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."

In addressing your concern, we must consider what the Bible says about fasting and self-control. Fasting is a spiritual discipline that has its roots in a desire to seek God more intently by temporarily abstaining from food or other necessities. However, it should not be driven by a spirit of compulsion or fear, as you've described.

Let us remember what the Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB, "For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Also, in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

If you feel compelled to eat or not to eat, this could be a sign of a deeper issue that needs to be addressed. It's crucial to ensure that your fasting is led by the Holy Spirit and not by a spirit of compulsion. True fasting should be accompanied by prayer and a sincere desire to seek God's will. As it is written in Matthew 6:16-18 WEB, "Moreover when you fast, don't be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you."

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our beloved in prayer. We ask that You grant them the spirit of self-control and guide them in their desire to fast. Help them to discern the spirits and ensure that their actions are led by Your Holy Spirit and not by compulsion. Destroy all temptations and deliver them from any bondage. Provide them with peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name. We pray that You reveal to them Your perfect will for their life and give them the strength to walk in it. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel and support during this time. Ensure that your actions are aligned with God's will and that your health is not compromised. May God grant you wisdom, discernment, and self-control.

Let's also remember Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." We claim this peace for you, dear friend. May you feel God's presence strongly, guiding and comforting you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
