In Ephesians 6:12 WEB, the Apostle Paul reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." This reminds us that our battle is spiritual, and we should put on the whole armor of God to stand against such forces.
Regarding the gifts, it's important to be discerning. In Acts 19:19 WEB, many who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all.
