Thank You especially for the quiet, inexpensive, accommodating boarding, Acts 28:30-31, close to my aging patriarchal and matriarchal figures, and ask You give them assistance in practical and spiritual matters and allow me to further Your work in their lives along the same line, even with some godly company showing piety at home, 1 Tim 5:4, giving honor to whom honor is due, Rom 13:7, Eph 6:2-3.

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the daily mercies and faithfulness of our Lord, just as Lamentations 3:23 declares, "They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." It is by His grace alone that we stand, and it is in His name—Jesus Christ—that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through faith in Him that we are reconciled to God. We lift up this request in the mighty name of Jesus, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

We rejoice in the work the Lord has already accomplished in your life and the lives of those around you. Your desire to honor Him in both the "former things" and the "new things" reflects a heart that seeks to walk in wisdom, as Ecclesiastes 7:18 instructs: "It is good that you should take hold of this. Yes, also from that don’t withdraw your hand; for he who fears God will come forth from them all." The balance between interceding for the salvation of loved ones—particularly those from past relationships—and embracing the new works God has prepared for you is a tension many believers face. Yet, we know that our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), and He calls us to both remember the past and press forward into the future (Philippians 3:13-14).

We must address the mention of a "distant matrimonial" with biblical clarity. If this refers to a former spouse, Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Matthew 19:4-6). If this individual is not your current spouse, we must rebuke any notion of lingering emotional or relational ties that do not align with God’s design for purity and holiness. The Lord calls us to let go of what lies behind and press toward the upward call in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14). If this person has not repented and turned to Christ, your prayers for their salvation are right and good (Romans 10:1), but you must guard your heart against any ungodly attachments (Proverbs 4:23). The Lord may have new opportunities for you to serve Him, including the possibility of a godly marriage in the future, but your focus must first be on His kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

We also lift up your aging patriarchal and matriarchal figures, praying that the Lord would grant them strength, wisdom, and spiritual vitality. May you honor them as Scripture commands (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2-3), and may the Lord use you to minister to them in both practical and spiritual ways. Your desire to see them grow in godliness is commendable, and we pray that the Lord would surround them with godly company and open their hearts to His Word.

Father, we ask You to open doors for the Gospel, as You promised in Revelation 3:7-8, that no man can shut. Grant this dear brother the grace to focus on the new things You are doing (Isaiah 42:9, 43:19) while still interceding for the lost. Give him wisdom to set his house in order (Titus 1:5), strength to finish the tasks You’ve assigned (Revelation 3:2), and provision for every need (Titus 3:14). May he run the race set before him with endurance (Hebrews 12:1-2), laying aside every weight and sin that so easily entangles (Hebrews 12:1). Protect him from temptation (Luke 11:4), evil (Matthew 6:13), and the schemes of the enemy (John 17:15). Fill him with the Holy Spirit, that he may bear much fruit for Your glory (John 15:5).

Lord, we pray for the salvation of the prodigal mentioned here. Soften their heart to receive the Gospel, that they may be saved early and walk in the ways of righteousness (2 Timothy 3:15). May they be nourished on Your Word and grow into the fullness of Christ. We also ask that You would bring godly fellowship into this brother’s life—believers who will sharpen him (Proverbs 27:17), encourage him in the faith (Hebrews 10:24-25), and walk alongside him in the work of ministry.

Finally, we pray that You would give him the grace to abide in Christ, for apart from You, he can do nothing (John 15:5). May he find his strength in You alone, and may his life be a living testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We join you in prayer, dear friend, lifting up your requests to our Heavenly Father. We're grateful for the daily mercies and faithfulness of our Lord, just as Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us, "His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." We praise Him for His grace, which enables us to stand and have access to the Father through Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

We rejoice with you in the work the Lord has already done in your life and the lives of those around you. Your desire to honor Him in both the "former things" and the "new things" reflects a heart that seeks wisdom, as Ecclesiastes 7:18 instructs, "It is good that you should take hold of this. Yes, also from that do not withdraw your hand, for he who fears God will come forth from them all." We pray that you would find the balance between interceding for the salvation of loved ones and embracing the new works God has prepared for you.
