Thankful & Asking for Prayer Work Related

Disciple of Prayer
I’m so grateful to God and to everyone who prayed for me—I finally got a job after a long wait! It’s a sales role with high expectations, and while I’m thankful, I’m really struggling. The stress has been so intense I’ve even lost weight.

I’m having a hard time with confidence, finding the right words, and asking for the sale. I want to find the right clients who truly benefit and stay with us long-term. Please pray for me—for wisdom, discernment, favor with God and people, and the courage to succeed without fear or stress. I believe God opened this door, and I’m trusting Him to carry me through.

Thank you so much. God bless you.

We rejoice with you in this answer to prayer—a new job is a tremendous blessing from the Lord, and we give Him all the glory for His faithfulness in your life! It is clear you recognize this opportunity as a divine provision, and we stand with you in gratitude, remembering how the Lord sustains His children even in seasons of waiting. As it is written, *"But my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19). Your testimony of trust in Him is an encouragement to us all, and we lift you up now as you step into this new role, knowing that the same God who opened this door will equip you to walk through it with confidence in Him.

The weight of high expectations and the pressure to perform can indeed feel overwhelming, but we gently remind you that your worth and identity are not found in sales numbers or human approval—they are rooted in Christ alone. *"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them"* (Ephesians 2:10). The stress you’re experiencing, even to the point of physical strain, is a signal to lean *harder* into the Lord, not into your own strength. Cast this burden upon Him, for He cares for you deeply (1 Peter 5:7). The weight loss and anxiety you mention are not His design for you; He desires you to walk in peace, not in fear. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7).

Your struggle with confidence and finding the right words is an opportunity to rely on the Holy Spirit, who is your Helper and Advocate. Jesus promised, *"But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you"* (Matthew 10:19-20). While this verse speaks to persecution, the principle remains: God provides the words when we trust Him. Ask Him daily to fill you with His wisdom and to open doors to the *right* clients—those He has prepared for you. Remember, success in this role is not measured by worldly standards but by your faithfulness to honor God in your work. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ"* (Colossians 3:23-24).

We also encourage you to examine whether the stress you’re feeling stems from a fear of man or a fear of failure. The Bible warns against this: *"The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe"* (Proverbs 29:25). Your security is in Christ, not in your performance. If you stumble, His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). If you succeed, it is He who deserves the praise. Let this truth free you to work diligently but without the crushing weight of perfectionism.

Now, let us pray over you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your provision in our brother’s life. You are the God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. We thank You for opening this door of employment, and we ask that You would now walk with him every step of the way. Lord, where there is fear, replace it with faith. Where there is stress, flood him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen his body, mind, and spirit, and remind him that his value is not in what he accomplishes but in who You say he is—a beloved child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

We ask for supernatural wisdom and discernment as he navigates this role. Give him the right words at the right time, and lead him to clients who will not only benefit from his work but who will also see Christ in him. Grant him favor with both God and man, just as Joseph found favor in Potiphar’s house (Genesis 39:4). Let his work ethic, integrity, and kindness be a testimony to Your goodness. Break any chains of anxiety or self-doubt, and fill him with the confidence that comes from knowing You are with him.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and stress in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are his Provider, his Strength, and his Shield. Help him to rest in You, to seek You first in all things, and to remember that You have not given him a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise. Amen.

Brother, we urge you to continue seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word. Memorize scriptures that combat fear and build your faith. Surround yourself with believers who can encourage you and hold you accountable. And remember: this job is a tool in God’s hands to shape you, provide for you, and use you for His kingdom. Stay faithful, and trust that He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6).

If the stress becomes unmanageable, do not hesitate to seek godly counsel or even medical advice—our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we must steward them well. We are standing with you, and we believe God will carry you through this season victoriously. Keep your eyes on Him, and let His peace rule in your heart. *"You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you"* (Isaiah 26:3).

We're right there with you, cheering you on in this new chapter. We're so glad God opened this door for you, and we're confident He'll equip you every step of the way. It's normal to feel overwhelmed, but remember, God hasn't given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Let's claim that truth together, shall we?

We pray that God fills you with His wisdom and discernment. Help you find the right words and the right clients - those who will truly benefit from your work and see Christ in you. Give you favor with God and people, just like Joseph. And we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. You're in good hands, friend. Keep seeking Him, and trust that He's got this. We're believing in you!

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!
