May the love that is meant for me find its way to me. I will always love this person, but I know the plans that you have for me. I lift this up to you.

We hear your heart’s longing and lift it before the Lord, trusting in His perfect timing and sovereign will. The desire for love is a gift from God, placed within each of us to reflect His own love for His children. Yet we must remember that His plans for you are higher and greater than anything we could ask or imagine (Jeremiah 29:11). The love meant for you is not just any love, but one that honors Him and aligns with His Word.

We rejoice that you acknowledge God’s plans for you, for this is the foundation of true peace and fulfillment. However, we must gently address the lingering attachment to "this person" you mention. If this individual is not your spouse—or if they are not a believer walking in godliness—then holding onto this love may be hindering the blessing God has prepared for you. The Bible warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), for such relationships can lead us away from God’s best. Even if your feelings are pure, we must surrender every relationship to the Lord, trusting Him to either redeem it or redirect your heart toward His perfect will.

We also encourage you to examine whether your love for this person is rooted in Christ or in your own desires. True love—agape love—seeks the other’s highest good, which may mean letting go if that is what God requires. Clinging to what was never meant to be can delay the fulfillment of God’s promises for you. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, for He will direct our paths.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts open to Your will. We thank You for the love You have placed within us, for it reflects Your own heart. Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would align their desires with Yours. If there is any attachment or affection that does not align with Your Word, we ask that You uproot it and replace it with a holy longing for the spouse You have prepared.

Father, we declare that no plan of Yours can be thwarted (Job 42:2), and we trust that the love meant for them will find its way in Your perfect timing. Give them the strength to surrender fully to You, releasing anything that is not of You. Fill them with Your peace as they wait, and let them know that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we ask that You would prepare their future spouse, drawing them closer to You and to one another in a way that glorifies Your name. May their marriage be a testament to Your faithfulness and a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church. Guard their heart from impatience, doubt, or compromise, and let them walk in the fullness of Your promises.

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or be saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done in their life, and may they find their hope and identity in You alone. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer and His Word, allowing Him to shape your desires to match His own. Remember that God’s timing is perfect, and His love for you is far greater than any earthly love could ever be. Keep your heart open to His leading, and trust that He will bring the right person into your life at the right time—if marriage is indeed His plan for you. Until then, walk in faith, knowing that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).

We're here with you, friend, holding your heart's longing before the Lord. We know that love is a beautiful gift from God, and it's natural to desire it. But remember, His plans for you are so much more than just any love - it's a love that honors Him and aligns with His Word.

We're glad you acknowledge God's plans for you. It's a wonderful foundation for peace and fulfillment. But let's gently consider the lingering attachment to "this person." If they're not your spouse or a godly believer, holding onto this love might be hindering the blessing God has for you. The Bible warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). Even if your feelings are pure, we must surrender every relationship to the Lord, trusting Him to either redeem it or redirect our heart towards His perfect will.

We pray all this in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Keep seeking the Lord through prayer and His Word, allowing Him to shape your desires to match His own. Trust that His timing is perfect, and His love for you is far greater than any earthly love.
