What a mighty and beautiful outpouring of praise, gratitude, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ! We join with you in lifting up thanksgiving for the boundless blessings, protection, and provision that flow from His hand. Your words resonate with the heart of a believer who has tasted and seen that the Lord is good, and we rejoice with you in the assurance that He is our habitation, our refuge, and our ever-present help in times of need.
The Scriptures you’ve claimed are powerful and true, especially Psalm 91, which declares the Lord as our shelter and fortress. *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’"* (Psalm 91:1-2, WEB). What a promise to stand upon! You have also rightly claimed Ephesians 1:4, reminding us that we were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him. This truth should fill us with awe and humility, knowing that our salvation and every blessing are rooted in His sovereign love and grace.
We especially lift our voices in agreement for the protection and unity over your marriage, for it is a covenant established by God Himself. The Lord has designed marriage to reflect His faithful love for His people, and we pray that He would continue to bind you and your wife together in a bond that no enemy can break. *"Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate"* (Mark 10:9, WEB). May the Lord keep your hearts knit together in love, devotion, and mutual submission to Christ. We pray that He would guard your marriage from any influence that would seek to divide or distract, and that you both would remain steadfast in pursuing holiness and oneness in Him. The prayer for your wife to always return to the Lord—and to you—is one we echo with fervor, asking that the Lord would cultivate in her a heart that is wholly devoted to Him first, and to you as her husband. *"Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it"* (Ephesians 5:22-25, WEB). May your love for one another mirror the selfless, sacrificial love of Christ, and may your home be a haven of peace, joy, and godliness.
We also join you in praying for the salvation of your children, grandchildren, and their spouses. There is no greater gift than to see our loved ones come to faith in Jesus Christ, and we claim the promise that *"the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself"* (Acts 2:39, WEB). May the Lord draw them to Himself and grant them repentance and faith in His perfect timing. We pray that you would have opportunities to share the Gospel with them, and that the Lord would use your life as a testimony of His goodness and grace.
Your gratitude for the Lord’s provision—both spiritual and physical—is a testament to His faithfulness. We praise Him with you for the "foods, clothes, shoes, shelter, water, fuels," and all the daily necessities He supplies. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* May the Lord continue to provide for every need, and may you rest in the assurance that He is your Jehova Jireh, the Lord who provides.
We also lift up your request regarding the VA disability rating and the matters concerning your city and insurance. The Lord is sovereign over every authority and institution, and we pray that He would move on behalf of those in positions of influence to act with fairness, integrity, and favor toward you. *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the rivers of water. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). May the Lord grant you wisdom in navigating these situations and provide supernatural favor in every interaction. We rebuke any scheme of the enemy to withhold what is rightfully yours or to bring unnecessary hardship, and we declare that the Lord will turn what was meant for harm into a testimony of His goodness and provision.
Your prayer for protection over your home, property, and the coming winter season is one we take up with you. The Lord is able to calm the storms, both literal and figurative, and we ask that He would guard your dwelling from any damage or harm. *"He makes storms calm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because the waters are quiet. So he brings them to their desired haven"* (Psalm 107:29-30, WEB). May the Lord grant you a warm and peaceful winter, and may your garage door be repaired swiftly and without complication.
We are also struck by your heart of worship and the way you have claimed the promises of God over every area of your life. This is the posture of a believer who walks in the authority and identity given to us in Christ. However, we want to gently remind you—and all who read this—that our confidence is not in our own declarations or claims, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ and the power of His name. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name alone that we are saved. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). You have rightly invoked the name of Jesus throughout your prayer, and we encourage you to continue to place your trust wholly in Him, for He is the author and perfecter of our faith.
Finally, we want to exhort you to remain steadfast in prayer, not just in times of petition, but in continual communion with the Lord. *"Pray without ceasing"* (1 Thessalonians 5:17, WEB). Let your life be a living sacrifice of worship, and may the Lord continue to reveal Himself to you in ever-greater ways. As you have experienced His awe-inspiring presence, may you hunger for more of Him, seeking His face above all else.
Now, let us pray together over these things:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and praise for who You are and all that You have done. Lord Jesus, we thank You for being the habitation and dwelling place of our brother, for surrounding him with Your presence and protection. We declare that no sickness, no evil, no plague, nor any weapon formed against him shall prosper, for You, Lord, are his shield and his exceedingly great reward. We thank You for the promises of Psalm 91 and ask that You would continue to hide him in the secret place of Your presence, under the shadow of Your wings.
Father, we lift up his marriage and ask that You would strengthen the bond between him and his wife. Lord, guard their hearts from distraction, division, or temptation. Bind them together in love, unity, and mutual submission to You. Convict them both to always return to You first, and may their love for one another reflect Your love for Your church. Protect their home, their property, and their family from all harm, seen and unseen. Lord, we ask that You would turn away any influence that would seek to harm their marriage or lead them astray. May they be a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace.
We pray for the salvation of their children, grandchildren, and their spouses. Lord, draw them to Yourself and open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Soften their hearts to receive Your love and forgiveness. Use our brother and his wife as vessels of Your light and truth in their lives.
Father, we thank You for Your provision and ask that You would continue to supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory. We pray for favor in the matters concerning the VA, their city, and their insurance. Lord, move on behalf of those in authority to act justly and favorably toward them. Provide wisdom and guidance as they navigate these situations, and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
We ask for Your protection over their home and property during the coming winter. Lord, calm the storms and still the winds. Provide for the repair of their garage door and keep their dwelling secure and warm. We rebuke any plan of the enemy to bring harm or lack, and we declare Your provision and protection over every area of their lives.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would continue to reveal Yourself to our brother in ever-greater ways. Fill him with Your Spirit and grant him a deeper hunger for Your presence. May his life be a testament to Your goodness, and may he walk in the authority and victory that You have purchased for him through the blood of Jesus.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen! To You alone be all the glory, honor, and praise!
