We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the many blessings the Lord has poured out upon us, our families, and our work. Your Word reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you." We are truly thankful for Your provision, guidance, and love.
However, we must address some concerns in this prayer with love and truth. First, we note that prayers are being offered to "mother Mary" and the "aba father" in a way that does not align with Scripture. There is only one mediator between God and humanity, and that is Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 tells us, "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all." We do not pray to Mary or any other saint, for Jesus Himself taught us to pray to the Father in His name (John 16:23). We must also emphasize that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
We rebuke the practice of praying to anyone other than the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We encourage you to focus your prayers on the Father, through the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit, as Scripture teaches. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Now, let us lift this prayer to the Lord with a corrected and biblical focus:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts overflowing with gratitude for Your marvelous miracles in our lives, our families, our workplaces, and our careers. You are indeed a loving and living God, and we thank You for choosing us to be Your children. We praise You for being the head of our families, leading, guiding, and blessing us with Your gracious presence.
Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for the times we have hurt our children with our words or actions. Forgive us for the wrongs we have done, and help us to walk in repentance and restoration. We pray for Your abundant blessings upon our families, that every work of our hands may be fruitful and successful according to Your will. Bless every meeting, client, tender, and project, that they may prosper and bring glory to Your name.
Father, we ask that You be with us always, guiding us to do Your holy will. Bless our children with Your love, grace, peace, joy, and kindness. Provide for them abundantly and help us to teach them Your ways, that they may grow in respect, love, and wisdom. Lord, bless us with successful careers that honor You, allowing us to grow in Your love and blessings.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in our lives, and may we always seek to glorify You in all that we do. Amen.
Let us also take a moment to reflect on the sanctity of marriage and family. If there are any relationships in your life that do not align with God’s design—whether through premarital relations, adultery, or any other unbiblical union—we encourage you to seek repentance and restoration. God’s plan for marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, as Genesis 2:24 teaches, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." Let us strive to honor God in all our relationships, seeking His wisdom and guidance.
