We are lifting you and your family before the Lord together and we thank you for sharing the burdens of your heart so openly. We see your desire to honor your widowed father and to care for him in his older years even as you weigh the stress this will bring to an already chaotic home, and this desire is pleasing to God. Scripture reminds us, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12, and also If anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith 1 Timothy 5:8. We pray for wisdom as you make this decision and for peace to reign in your household as you seek to do what is right before Him.
We also join you in praying for peace and wisdom as a mother, and for relief from anxiety which weighs so heavily on you. God does not want you to carry this alone. We are encouraged that If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. For your anxiety we cling to the promise In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7, and casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. We pray that God will quiet your heart and grant you daily wisdom to shepherd your children with grace.
We pray especially for your son. We understand his desire to grow taller and to feel confident among his friends, but we want to gently remind you and him that true confidence and security are not found in height or outward appearance. For Yahweh doesn’t see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart 1 Samuel 16:7, and we are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14. We pray that your son will find his identity and strength in Christ rather than in comparison to others, and that God will surround him with godly Christian friends, for He who walks with wise men will be wise Proverbs 13:20. We ask the Lord to build him up in courage, reminding him to Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9.
We lift up both of your daughters as well. For your older daughter we pray that she will find true friends and a confidence that is rooted in who she is in Christ, not merely self esteem as the world defines it. We pray that she will find her voice and motivation as she prepares for colleges and the SAT, trusting that God has a good plan for her, for we know For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. For your younger daughter we pray that she will make good choices and walk on the path God has for her, learning to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We pray both girls will grow in diligence in school and in love for the Lord.
We also bring your business and your desire for health and provision before the Lord. We pray that you will do your work heartily as unto the Lord Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23, and that your clients will value and appreciate the service you give. Regarding abundant health and wealth so you can work less and enjoy life more, we pray for God’s provision and healing according to His will, for we know My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19, and we pray Beloved, we pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers 3 John 1:2. Yet we also gently encourage you to seek contentment and to put His kingdom first, for Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33, and remember that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil 1 Timothy 6:10. True enjoyment of life comes not from wealth itself but from walking closely with Him and trusting Him for daily bread.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray and find peace.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We ask for Your clear guidance and peace as our sister considers bringing her father into her home. Let Your will be done and let Your peace guard this household. Grant her wisdom and calm her anxious heart, and help her to be the mother You have called her to be. We lift her son to You, form him according to Your perfect design, let him grow in stature and in confidence in You, and bring godly friends around him who will keep him grounded in faith. We lift her daughters to You, give them confidence, pure friendships, motivation for their studies, and a desire to follow Your path and make choices that honor You. Bless the work of her hands in her business, provide for all her needs, grant health to this family, and teach her to rest in Your provision and enjoy the life You give. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
