Thank you for the prayers

We thank you for sharing your heart again and for letting us continue to stand with you in prayer. We hear the deep pain in watching your husband drive by each day to spend time with someone else while you are faithfully praying and holding on to the promises Jesus has given. We grieve with you over this brokenness in your marriage and we lift you up together before the Lord.

We want to speak clearly about what you are enduring because God speaks clearly about marriage. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that God Himself joins together. Matthew 19:6 says So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart. Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. What your husband is doing in choosing to spend his time with someone else while still being your husband is adultery and it is sin against God and against his covenant with you. We rebuke that sin while we also pray for his repentance. God hates the tearing apart of what He has joined, and Malachi 2:16 reminds us that God hates divorce, yet He also calls adulterers to turn from their sin and be made new in Christ. We encourage you to remain faithful to your vows and to guard your own heart from any relationship that would not honor God. While you remain married you are not free to seek another man, but are called to either remain as you are or to pray for reconciliation if God brings true repentance.

We are so encouraged that you are holding on to the promises of Jesus. He sees your faithfulness and He is near to you in this sorrow. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. The promises you are clinging to are true and God will not forsake you even when your husband has. Romans 8:28 assures us that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, even when we cannot yet see how.

Regarding your desire to move out of state, we understand the longing to find relief from the daily pain of watching him pass by. That ache is real and God understands your weariness. We encourage you not to make such a major decision hastily out of pain alone, but to seek the Lord's clear guidance with wise and godly counsel from your pastor or mature believers who know you. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Ask the Lord whether moving would be a step of healing and provision or a step away from the support and community He has placed around you. Seek His peace about timing, provision, and place, and trust that Jeremiah 29:11 is true for you, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

We pray together for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace for our dear sister. We thank You that she is still holding on to You and to Your promises. Lord, comfort her broken heart and bind up her wounds. Give her Your strength to endure each day and Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask You to convict her husband of his adultery, to bring him to repentance and to turn his heart back to You and to his covenant marriage. We pray that You would put an end to the adulterous relationship and bring godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Father, give our sister clear wisdom about whether to move away. Make her path straight, open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and provide confirmation through Your Word and through godly counsel. If it is Your will for her to stay, give her grace to remain. If it is Your will for her to go, provide a place of refuge and renewal where she can heal and continue to serve You. Help her to keep her eyes on Jesus, to remain faithful and pure, and to trust that You are working all things for her good. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We hear how heavy this daily ache must be for you, watching your husband drive by to be with someone else while you are trying to stay faithful in prayer. Wanting space and even a fresh start out of state makes a lot of sense when the reminder comes right past your window every day. Thank you for letting us stay with you in prayer through this.

Holding on to what Jesus has shown you while living with this kind of hurt takes real endurance, and it is understandable to feel torn between staying and wanting to get away from the pain.

Since moving out of state is a big decision with so many layers, one steady next step that often helps is to pause and walk through it with one or two wise, grounded people who know you well before you make any commitments. A trusted pastor or Christian counselor and someone who knows your practical situation can help you think through questions like where you would have support, work and housing, what distance would mean for any legal or family matters, and whether a move would bring the quiet you are hoping for or just carry the grief with you.

We are praying for clarity for you, and for daily strength as you wait on the Lord's direction.

Father, we lift our sister to You. You see the loneliness and the hurt she carries each day. Give her wisdom for the decision about moving, peace as she seeks Your will, and the comfort of Your nearness. Surround her with caring people and guide her steps. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and the burden you carry is not hidden from the Lord who heals the broken in heart. To watch the covenant of marriage wounded day by day, to see a husband turn aside to another, is a great ill and a deep sorrow, and we do not make light of it. The Scripture speaks plainly that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that to tear asunder such a bond is agony indeed, dividing as it were between joints and marrow. We weep with you under that weight and we do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but we ask Him to bring conviction, repentance and healing where sin has entered.

There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. When the Lord comes and dwells with His people, healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed together. What the great Physician does is not merely to point out the disease, but to apply the remedy, and that remedy is found at Calvary. He heals the wound of sin and He alone can change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We pray that this healing virtue may be infused into your own heart in this season of waiting, that though you are wounded you may be bound up by His hand, and that your husband may also come to see his need of pardon, for pardon and healing are one in Christ.

You have spoken of holding on to promises Jesus gave you while you pray, and of the thought of moving away out of state. We understand the desire for distance when the daily sight is so painful, and we will pray that the Lord will give you clear wisdom and godly counsel in this matter. Do not make so weighty a decision in haste or alone, but seek the counsel of faithful pastors and mature believers who hold fast the Word of God, who can help you weigh what is wise and what will keep you near the means of grace and the teaching where healing power is present, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Like Peter after his fall, may you find solitude not in flight alone, but in nearness to the look of the Lord who restores and severs His own from the crowd to bring them back to Himself.

We will pray for you, that the Sun of Righteousness may rise upon you with healing in His wings, that you may be kept in faith and patience, that your husband may be turned from the path he now walks and be brought to repentance through Jesus Christ alone, in whom alone is salvation, and that your home may know the mercy of restoration if it be the Lord's will to grant it. May the Lord Himself be your portion and your guide, whether you remain or whether you are led elsewhere, and may He keep you till the day when all wounds are healed and every tear is wiped away.

We continue to hold you before the throne of grace, asking for pardon, healing, and direction in every step.
