Dear God, I nearly got a divorce, but thank you for saving it and protecting it. We communicate better, we don’t argue we talk, we text, we send each other pictures, we share information, we go to sleep happy, we go out as a family, we do therapy, we share our things, we cook together, we laugh together, we travel together, we mend every mistake we made, we love each, we love each others company, we pray together, we love our circle. We rejoice with you and give thanks to God with you for His mercy and grace in protecting and restoring your marriage. What you are describing is a beautiful testimony of God's healing power and His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We praise Him that what was nearly broken has been mended by His hand.

God delights in reconciliation and restoration. His Word tells us, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Mark 10:9. And again, Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. Colossians 3:13-14. Your commitment to communicate better, to talk instead of argue, to laugh, to cook, to travel, to share, to pray together and to mend every mistake is evidence of that love and forgiveness at work.

We are encouraged that you pray together and that you have invited Jesus into the center of your home. It is only through Him that we have true peace and access to the Father, and we thank you for praying in His name.

Father, we thank You in the name of Jesus for Your faithfulness to this marriage. Thank You for turning sorrow toward divorce into joy, for replacing argument with understanding, and for teaching this husband and wife to love each other as You have loved us. We ask You to continue to be the foundation of this union. Keep their hearts tender toward You and toward one another, help them to continue in humility and gentleness with patience, bearing with one another in love and being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:2-3. Let their communication grow ever more gracious, their forgiveness quick, and their love deeper. May their home continue to be filled with laughter, prayer, and thanksgiving, and may their family and their circle be blessed by the witness of a marriage restored by Christ. Guard them from any scheme of the enemy and let no one separate what You have joined together. Help them to continue in therapy and in prayer, to seek Your wisdom daily, and to love each other with the patient, kind, enduring love described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. We ask that You make their marriage a light to others, showing that with You all things are possible. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to build on this foundation, keeping Christ at the center each day, abiding in His Word together, praying together, and forgiving quickly. As you have learned to talk, to share, to laugh and to pray together, continue steadfastly in those things. Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. Ecclesiastes 4:9. May the Lord bless you and keep you and cause your marriage to grow ever stronger in Him for all the years He gives you together.

To hear that a marriage that nearly ended in divorce is now marked by talking instead of arguing, texting and sharing pictures through the day, cooking and traveling and laughing together, and going to sleep happy, that is such good news. Thank you for sharing it.

We love how you described the everyday things. Those small choices to share, to mend mistakes, to pray together and enjoy your circle, are what keep hearts open and engaged. When a home begins to feel like the safest place on earth, love can grow again.

There is abundant cause to come into His presence with the voice of joy and thanksgiving, and your words do so very fittingly. All the year round, every hour of every day, God is richly blessing us, both when we sleep and when we wake His mercy waits upon us, but there are crowning mercies which call for crowning thanksgiving, and the preservation of a marriage is surely among them.

We rejoice with you that the Lord, who is the God of peace, has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation and has wrought it in your house. What you describe, that you now communicate, that you talk rather than argue, that you share your things, cook together, laugh together, travel together, pray together, and go to sleep happy, is a sweet evidence of that truth that in a true marriage the husband and wife become one, cemented by mutual love. Marriage is not a mere convenience, but a covenant union, the result of choice on both sides, and when God says, I am married unto you, it implies a blessed choice and a tender, abiding love. To see that love renewed between you is cause to exalt the Lord our God.

Your testimony also reminds us of Peter's restoration. He was down, but he was soon up again, and that restoration was brought about by a look from the Lord, for Jesus had prayed for him. So we see in your case that the Lord has looked upon you in mercy, and His prevalent intercession has lifted you from among the siftings where the adversary would have thrown you. You were nearly parted, yet the Lord has mended what was broken. As Peter after his restoration could say, do not wander, there is no good in it, come back to Him there is such peace and rest with Him, so you now by experience can speak of the joy which reconciliation brings and can say, we know it is so, for we have felt it.

He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation, to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. That same reconciling grace which has made peace between you and God through Jesus Christ alone is the fountain from which peace flows between you and one another. Hold fast to it. Continue in those gracious means you have named, in prayer together, in honest speech, in bearing one another's burdens, and in that mutual love which makes two persons one flesh. And as you have been restored, aim also to strengthen your brethren, that others who face the same trial may learn from your example to seek the Lord at once by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let us give thanks together. O Lord our God, we bless Thee for this crowning mercy, for Thou hast turned threatened sorrow into joy and hast kept this covenant of marriage from being broken. We praise Thee for every token of restored love, for every meal shared, every prayer offered together, every laugh and every journey in peace. Keep this household, we pray, rooted in Christ, faithful in love, and constant in prayer, that their union may reflect the marriage of the Lamb to His Church, and that their home may be a witness of Thy reconciling grace until the end.
