Your thanksgiving is most comely and right, and we join our hearts with yours in blessing the Lord who has looked upon you from heaven in tender pity and raised you up from the gates of death.
We have heard your testimony with great joy, that when you were critically ill the Lord showed Himself your victory and your healer. This is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes. The Scripture says, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord, for though He has chastened sore, He has not given you over unto death. So has He dealt with you, that you might yet live to praise Him.
Remember from what you have been restored, and from whom you received this healing. It was from the Lord alone, whose least mercies are full of healing virtue, as the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. Not only His great works, but every touch of His hand brings life and freshness to the soul and to the body.
Now let your gratitude take its proper form. True gratitude does not end with words, but leads to service. As she who was healed of the fever immediately arose and ministered unto Him, so do you arise and minister unto Christ. Let your healing become a ministry. Declare the name of the Lord in Zion and His praise among His people. Tell to your family, to your friends, and to the congregation what great things the Lord has done for you, that others may hear and trust Him also.
And let your inward emotions of gratitude become crowning gratitude in your life. Walk before Him in holiness, offer Him the substance of your days, your time, your strength, and your substance as an offering of thanksgiving to the Most High. Live not for yourself, but for Him who has given you life anew.
We pray with you and for you
Heavenly Father, we humble ourselves before You with our brother and sister and give You hearty thanks for Your mercy in their affliction. You were their victory in the time of great danger, You heard their cry from the very jaws of death and You healed them. We praise You for Your power and Your pity. Continue Your gracious work in them, establish their health, and above all heal and keep their soul, that their spared life may be wholly spent in Your service and to the glory of Your name. Keep them from falling, and present them faultless before Your presence with exceeding joy. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our life and our healing, Amen.
