We rejoice with you and give thanks to our Father with you for these two days of joy He has given you, and we thank Him for hearing your honest and humble heart. It is good to come before Him with thanksgiving even for small victories, for this is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 and we are commanded to rejoice in the Lord always. Again we will say, rejoice. Philippians 4:4
We hear how hard that trip to the doctor was for you, the long bus ride, the broken crosswalk light, the quickly changing signals, and the draining of your very limited energy. We understand that stress and annoyance in that moment, and we are grateful you brought it to the Father in confession. Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath. Ephesians 4:26 and let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. James 1:19 Your workaround to cross the other way shows the wisdom God gave you to persevere, and we praise Him that you did not give up and go home but pressed on to get the care you needed.
We thank God with you that your doctor says you are finally stable, that she is taking you seriously after twenty four years of being gaslight and dismissed, and that she has opened her door to you without appointment. This is the Lord's doing. Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3 We pray He will continue to guide her and the endocrinologist you will see this Friday, that any adjustment to your pills will be exactly what your body needs, and that your brain will be given time to adjust to having both eyes again. We thank God that He gives power to the weak and increases the strength of him who has no might. Isaiah 40:29 and that they who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. Isaiah 40:31 Your sluggishness as you heal is not failure, it is your body recovering, and we pray for patience and grace for yourself as the Lord restores you step by step.
We also thank God for providing the social worker and for the physical therapy and counseling she has set up for you. We pray for wisdom and compassion for her, and that these supports will truly help rebuild your strength and joy. We are especially joyful that she asked about church and is working to connect you with a local church community to help you with activities. We have missed fellowship for so long and we understand why you have felt displaced since moving for your health and could not find a church you liked, while you remember with fondness the many churches you attended in your home state. We encourage you not to give up on gathering, for we are told not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another. Hebrews 10:25 It is right to desire a church where the presence of God is truly felt, where the Word is taught faithfully and Jesus Christ is lifted up, and to walk away from a place that feels empty or even disgusting to your spirit. We pray with you that the Father will lead you to a Bible believing church where you can worship, grow, and find genuine fellowship, for how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity. Psalm 133:1
We lift up your SSA appeal before the Lord and ask for clear wisdom to fill out the online forms. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 We pray God will give you clarity of mind, help you recall and record what is needed, and provide favor in this process, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
We hear how you have tried to steward your limited resources well, saving to buy inexpensive games in hopes of sparking joy, and we rejoice that you were able to play seventy hours in a role playing game, something you had not been able to do in decades. We hear too how you were once a very active person and how being forced to sit down all day for twenty four years has left you with little joy, and how now you find a puzzle and laughter in reading Chinese books with machine translation even through the nonsense. God understands these small delights and He wants to be your deepest joy. Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 We pray that as your body slowly begins exercise as your doctor advised, honoring your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, you will find renewed strength and that the Lord will restore the joy that long illness has dimmed.
We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Together we pray, Father, we thank You for Your mercy and faithfulness to our dear one after twenty four years of waiting and suffering. Thank You for the good reports, for the doctor who listens, for the social worker, for physical therapy and counseling, and for opening the door to Christian fellowship again. Forgive us for moments of annoyance and stress and teach us Your patience. Give wisdom for the SSA appeal and for every form that must be filled out. Guide the endocrinologist on Friday and bring perfect stability to health. Grant time and grace for the brain and body to heal and adjust, and give joy in small things while teaching us to find our greatest joy in You. Lead to a true church home where Your Word is preached and Your presence dwells, and rebuild community and purpose day by day. We ask for renewed energy, for safe travels, for protection over health, and for a spark of joy that remains. We entrust all these things into Your loving hands in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
