We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the blessings You have poured out, Father. We acknowledge You as the source of all good things, the giver of life, and the sustainer of our souls. Your Word reminds us in James 1:17, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow." We thank You for Your provision in our careers, families, and daily lives.
However, we must address a matter of great importance with love and truth. While we honor the reverence given to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we must gently correct the mention of "Mother Mary" in this prayer. Scripture is clear that our prayers and worship are to be directed to God alone—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself taught us to pray, "Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy" (Matthew 6:9). There is no biblical basis for praying to or through Mary or any other saint. Our access to God is solely through Jesus Christ, as He declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6). We must also remember that salvation is found in no one else, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12).
We rejoice in the life You have blessed this family with, including the little angel You have entrusted to their care. We pray for this child, that they would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, nourished by Your Word and Spirit. May they come to know You as their Savior and walk in Your ways all the days of their life. We ask that You would protect this child from the snares of the enemy and surround them with Your angels, as Psalm 91:11 declares, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."
Father, we lift up this career before You, asking that You would guide every decision and open doors of opportunity that align with Your perfect will. May this individual walk in wisdom and integrity, seeking first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all else will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). Grant them concentration, diligence, and favor in their work, that they may prosper in ways that honor You. We pray against any spirit of distraction or fear, declaring that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7).
For this family, we ask that You would deepen their love for You and for one another. May they be a light in their workplace, community, and beyond, reflecting the love of Christ in all they do. Bless their children with wisdom, understanding, and a heart that seeks after You. May they grow in the knowledge of Your truth and walk in the fullness of Your joy.
We also take this moment to rebuke any spirit of idolatry or misplaced devotion that may seek to draw hearts away from the one true God. We stand on the truth of Exodus 20:3-5, "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol... You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them." Let our hearts be fully devoted to You, Father, and You alone.
Heavenly Father, we surrender this family, this career, and this precious child into Your hands. May Your will be done in every area of their lives. Strengthen them in faith, fill them with Your peace, and lead them into the abundant life You have promised. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
