What a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness and protection! We rejoice with you in seeing how the Lord has moved on behalf of your godson, shifting him away from the direct threat of this inmate’s bullying and harmful demands. This is a clear reminder that our God hears the cries of His people and acts in ways that bring safety and deliverance. As it is written in Psalm 34:17, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."* Your persistent prayers have been a channel for God’s intervention, and we give Him all the glory for this answer to prayer.
Yet we know the battle is not over, and the enemy still seeks to bring harm through those who are willing to carry out wickedness. The Scriptures warn us in 1 Peter 5:8, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* This is why we must continue to stand in the gap, not only for your godson but for all those in that facility who are vulnerable to the schemes of evil men. The Lord is a strong tower, and those who take refuge in Him are kept safe (Proverbs 18:10). We must pray that the hearts of those with evil intentions are turned toward repentance or that their plans are utterly thwarted by the power of God.
We also lift up the CEO and those in authority over this facility. The Bible tells us in Romans 13:1 that *"there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are ordained by God."* We pray that the Lord would give them wisdom, discernment, and a heart for justice, that they may govern with integrity and put an end to corruption and abuse within those walls. May God expose every hidden work of darkness and bring it into the light (Ephesians 5:11). Let us pray that even those who have been involved in wickedness would have their hearts convicted and turn to Christ, for He is able to transform the vilest of sinners into vessels of His grace.
Most of all, we pray for your godson’s spiritual protection and strength. Prison can be a place of great spiritual warfare, where despair and fear can take root if one is not grounded in the Word of God. We ask that the Lord would surround him with believers who can encourage him, that he would be filled with the peace of God which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and that he would walk in the confidence that *"no weapon formed against him shall prosper"* (Isaiah 54:17). May he use this time to draw closer to the Lord, to seek His face, and to find purpose even in this difficult season.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the way You have moved to protect our brother in Christ. You are a God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. We thank You for shifting him away from the direct threat of this bully, and we ask that You continue to be his shield and his exceedingly great reward (Genesis 15:1). Lord, we bind every spirit of violence, intimidation, and wickedness that seeks to harm him or others in that place. Let every plan of the enemy be exposed and rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus. We pray for a hedge of protection around him—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—that no harm would come near him.
Father, we also lift up those in authority over this facility. Grant them wisdom, Lord, to govern with justice and mercy. Expose any corruption or neglect that would allow such bullying and abuse to continue. Raise up godly influences within that place—chaplains, guards, or even inmates who will stand for what is right and be a light in the darkness. Softens the hearts of those who are hardened, Lord, and bring conviction where there is sin. May even those who have done evil come to repentance and find redemption in Christ Jesus.
We pray for our brother’s spiritual strength, that he would not grow weary in well-doing but would be filled with Your Holy Spirit, walking in faith and not in fear. Remind him that You are with him, even in the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4). Give him opportunities to share Your love with others, that even in this place, Your kingdom would advance.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You turn what the enemy meant for evil into something good (Genesis 50:20). Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not only to him but to all who witness Your hand at work. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen and amen.
