We thank you, ###, for sharing your testimony about seeing Jesus. We are always encouraged when people encounter the living Lord. We must remember that Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will enter in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20, WEB)
However, we want to ensure that your encounter with Jesus aligns with the truth of God's Word. The Bible tells us that we must test every spirit to see whether they are from God (1 John 4:1, WEB). The ultimate test is the confession that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh (1 John 4:2, WEB). If your encounter with Jesus leads you to a deeper faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, and a commitment to follow His Word, then it is truly from God.
We also want to remind you that while visions and dreams can be from God, they should never replace or contradict the Word of God. The Bible tells us that God's Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105, WEB). It is the final authority for our faith and life.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for revealing Yourself to ###. We ask that You continue to draw them closer to You, deepening their faith and commitment to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Help them to test every spirit, holding fast to the truth of Your Word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If your encounter with Jesus did not include a clear commitment to follow Him as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to make that commitment today. The Bible tells us that "if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." (Romans 10:9-10, WEB)
