Saw Jesus In My Dream. Meaning?

Disciple of Prayer
Hi everyone 🤍 I hope it’s okay that I share something a little different here. I would really appreciate your thoughts and prayers about it. In the dream I was on something like a boat or open bus up in the sky with other people. Another group next to us were screaming and a voice over a loudspeaker said they were being healed from diseases like diabetes but they were scared because of how high they were. Seemed like their boat/bus was going in circles but being healed. Then the scenery kept changing like we were moving through different places. We were moving through different scenery viewing everything from above. First we looked down to see the beautiful plants and trees. I saw Jesus standing there and I told the people next to me but they looked confused, like only I could see Him... Next we passed a field full of white sheep and I saw Jesus standing kinda slow walking among them. He looked at me and we made eye contact I felt emotional. I saw his face. He had a beard and looked tall and was wearing all white with like a belt or scarf around his waist. I can't recall much. but again no one else seemed to see Him. I kept telling everyone around me look Jesus! no one saw Him but me.. The last scene was over the ocean. The waves became very strong and scary, so I closed my eyes. I remembered in my mind in the dream the Bible story where the disciples were afraid during the storm. So I told myself the waves will calm down soon. Suddenly everything became calm and peaceful and it felt like we were walking on the water. And I saw Jesus but couldn't see him clearly this time... I’m wondering how others would interpret this or what it could symbolize...For the past few weeks I’ve been praying for reassurance about my health and asking Jesus to appear in my dreams. Two nights ago I also prayed to see sheep as a sign that my prayers were being heard. Been feeling like I want to give up because dealing with a health issue with no answers for the past 2 years. Then I have this dream. I'd appreciate anyone's input. Thank you all.

We hear your heart and the deep longing for reassurance in the midst of your health struggles. Dreams can sometimes carry spiritual significance, especially when they align with Scripture and the desires of a seeking heart. Your dream vividly reflects themes of divine presence, healing, and peace—echoing the very promises of God found in His Word.

The imagery of Jesus appearing to you alone, walking among the sheep, and calming the storm is powerful. In John 10:27, Jesus says, *"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."* That you alone saw Him may signify His personal care for you, even when others around you may not perceive His nearness. The sheep in your dream could very well be an answer to your prayer—a reminder that you are known and loved by the Good Shepherd (Psalm 23). The storm and its sudden calm mirror Jesus’ authority over chaos, as He demonstrated when He stilled the winds and waves in Mark 4:39: *"Peace, be still!"* His presence in that moment is a reminder that He is with you in your trials, even when the waters feel overwhelming.

Your pursuit of Christ in prayer—asking for reassurance and even for signs—is commendable. However, we must gently remind you that while dreams can be meaningful, our faith must ultimately rest on the unshakable truth of Scripture, not signs or experiences alone. In Matthew 12:39, Jesus says, *"An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet."* This is not to dismiss your dream, but to encourage you to anchor your hope in God’s Word, which is *"a lamp to our feet and a light to our path"* (Psalm 119:105). The Bible assures us that God hears our prayers (1 John 5:14) and works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28), even when answers are delayed.

We also want to gently address the nature of your prayers. While it is not wrong to ask for specific signs, we must be cautious not to treat God as a cosmic vending machine, where we input requests and expect immediate, visible results. True faith trusts in His sovereignty and timing, even when the path is unclear. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us, *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways... For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."*

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our sister in Christ who is seeking Your face in the midst of her struggles. Lord, we thank You for the way You have spoken to her through this dream, reminding her of Your presence, Your care, and Your power. We ask that You would continue to draw near to her, especially in moments of weariness or doubt. Strengthen her faith, Lord, not in signs or dreams alone, but in the unchanging truth of Your Word and the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Father, we lift up her health concerns to You. You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You would bring clarity, healing, and peace to her body and mind. Even if the answers are not immediate, help her to trust in Your perfect timing and Your good plans for her life. Remind her that she is not alone, for You are her Shepherd, and she shall not want (Psalm 23:1). When the storms of life rage, let her cling to the promise that You are in the boat with her, and that You have authority over every wave.

Lord, we also ask that You would guard her heart against discouragement or the temptation to seek signs over the simplicity of faith. Help her to rest in the assurance that You hear her prayers and that Your love for her is steadfast. Fill her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let her walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who calms the storms, heals the sick, and walks with us through every trial. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through His Word and prayer. Spend time in the Gospels, meditating on the life and teachings of Jesus, and allow His truth to renew your mind. Remember, He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). If you have not already, consider sharing your burdens with a trusted believer or a biblical counselor who can walk alongside you in this season. You are not alone, and your faith is precious in God’s sight.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

It reminds me of Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing." It's like He was saying, "I see you, I know you, and I'm taking care of you."

The part about the storm calming down is also powerful. It reminds me of Jesus' words in Mark 4:39, "Peace, be still!" He's with you in the storm, and He has the power to calm it whenever He wants to.
