Tempted to think ### thoughts

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hi, I went through lots of warfare my whole life..it is getting better but my soul is still tired. I now fell in love with someone but he rejects me. This opened the wounds of rejection and abandonment and I felt tempted to think bad thoughts like, my life is useless. I did cut myself when I was younger but stopped it. But now I feel in accuses, please pray for me that I always choose life and do not give up. Thank you.

We hear the deep pain in your words, dear sister, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The wounds of rejection and abandonment run deep, and the enemy would love nothing more than to use this moment of vulnerability to whisper lies into your soul, lies that your life is useless, that you are unloved, or that the pain will never end. But we declare with the authority of Scripture that those thoughts are not from God. "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10 WEB). The enemy seeks to destroy, but Jesus came to give you life, full, abundant, and overflowing.

Your struggle with self-harm in the past is not something to be ashamed of, but it is a battle scar that reminds us how fiercely the enemy fights to break God’s beloved. We rebuke the spirit of despair and self-destruction that would seek to pull you back into that darkness. The Word of God tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). You are not alone in this fight, and God has already provided a way out. We pray that you would cling to Him in these moments of weakness, for His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB).

The pain of unrequited love is real, and we do not minimize it. But we must also examine this relationship through the lens of Scripture. You mentioned falling in love with someone who rejects you, but we must ask: Is this person a believer? Is this a relationship that honors God and aligns with His design for marriage? The Bible is clear that we are not to be "unequally yoked" with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). If this person does not share your faith in Christ, then this relationship cannot be blessed by God, and it will only bring more heartache. We encourage you to surrender this person to the Lord and ask Him to heal your heart. God’s plans for you are good, and He desires to give you a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). That future may not look like what you imagined, but it will be far greater than anything you could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20 WEB).

We also want to address the lies you are tempted to believe. The enemy is a master deceiver, and he will use every wound, every rejection, and every moment of weakness to plant seeds of doubt in your mind. But we declare over you the truth of God’s Word: "The Lord appeared of old to me, saying, 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you'" (Jeremiah 31:3 WEB). You are not useless. You are not unloved. You are a daughter of the Most High God, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB), and He has a purpose for your life that no rejection or abandonment can thwart.

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6 WEB), and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess your sins, repent, and ask Him to come into your heart. He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). If you have already done this, we praise God for your salvation and encourage you to continue walking closely with Him, especially in these moments of temptation.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our sister who is struggling with the wounds of rejection, abandonment, and the pain of unrequited love. Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your healing balm upon her soul. Comfort her in the places where she is broken, and remind her of Your everlasting love. We rebuke the spirit of despair and self-destruction that would seek to pull her back into darkness. Strengthen her, Lord, in her moments of weakness, and help her to cling to You as her refuge and strength.

Father, we ask that You would heal her heart from the pain of this relationship. If this person is not the one You have for her, we pray that You would remove him from her heart and mind. Give her the strength to surrender this relationship to You and to trust in Your perfect plan for her life. Help her to see herself as You see her, a beloved daughter, fearfully and wonderfully made, with a purpose and a future that is good.

Lord, we also pray that You would guard her mind from the lies of the enemy. When the thoughts of worthlessness or uselessness creep in, remind her of Your truth. Fill her mind with Your Word, and help her to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB). Surround her with godly friends and mentors who can speak life into her and encourage her in her walk with You.

Father, we ask that You would continue to heal the wounds of her past. Bring to mind any ungodly soul ties or emotional attachments that need to be broken in the name of Jesus. Cleanse her from all unrighteousness, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).

Finally, Lord, we pray that You would draw her closer to You. Help her to seek You with her whole heart, and to find her identity and worth in You alone. May she know that she is deeply loved, not because of anything she has done, but because of what Jesus has done for her on the cross.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.

Dear sister, we want to leave you with this encouragement from the Word of God: "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). You do not have to carry this burden alone. Jesus is waiting with open arms, ready to carry your pain and give you rest. Keep pressing into Him, and do not give up. The enemy may have meant this pain for harm, but God can use it for good (Genesis 50:20 WEB). Trust in Him, and He will lead you into the abundant life He has promised. You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He has a plan for your life that is good. Hold on to that truth, and let it carry you through the darkest moments. We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God is at work even now.

We want you to know how deeply we hurt for you right now. Those old wounds from rejection and abandonment don’t just go away, and watching someone we love struggle with thoughts like that breaks our hearts. We’ve all been in places where the pain feels too heavy to carry, and we just want to wrap our arms around you and remind you that you’re not alone in this.

When these thoughts come, telling you that your life is useless or that you’re unlovable, please don’t believe them for a second. Those aren’t God’s voice. He’s already proven His love for you in ways that go beyond words, and nothing can change that truth. You’re so precious to Him, and His plans for you aren’t just good, they’re far greater than anything we could imagine.

We pray that in this moment of raw hurt, you’d feel God’s presence wrapping around you like a warm blanket. That He’d whisper to your heart that you’re held, seen, and deeply loved, not for what you do or who loves you back, but because He made you and calls you His own. You’ve fought so hard in this battle, and we’re right here with you, cheering you on.

Father, reach into the deepest parts of ### heart and pull out every lie that’s taken root there. Replace the pain with Your peace, the loneliness with Your presence, and the exhaustion with Your strength. Remind her again tonight that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, and that her future is safe in Your hands. Heal the broken places, Lord, and let her feel Your love so tangibly that it drowns out every voice that’s ever told her otherwise.

In Jesus’ name.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this tender and trying season. Your honesty about the battles you’ve faced—both past and present—has stirred our hearts to intercede for you with even greater fervency. We have lifted you before the Father, asking Him to surround you with His peace that surpasses understanding, to heal the deep wounds of rejection and abandonment, and to remind you daily of your immeasurable worth in Christ.

We recognize how exhausting spiritual warfare can be, especially when the soul feels weary and the enemy whispers lies that seek to steal your hope. But we have prayed that the Holy Spirit would strengthen you with power in your inner being, that you would be rooted and grounded in God’s love, and that you would know—truly know—how wide and long and high and deep that love is for you. We asked the Lord to guard your mind from every destructive thought and to replace every lie with His truth, reminding you that your life is precious, purposeful, and held securely in His hands.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—if you’ve felt His comfort, His presence, or His healing touch—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a source of encouragement to others walking similar paths. If, however, the battle still rages and you feel no closer to victory, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, standing firm in faith that God is at work even when we cannot see it.

Above all, we pray that you would draw near to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith, who endured the cross for the joy set before Him and now sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for you. May you find rest in His presence, strength in His Word, and hope in His promises. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
