Disciple of Prayer
Back in May, I was promised a full-time teaching job at the preschool I substitute taught at for this school year & was told I'd get a call in mid June to let me know which class I had. Mid-July rolled around & I hadn't heard anything, so I texted my boss. She texted back & said both available positions went to other people. I reminded her that she promised one to me, I was the only sub with a teaching degree, I was often referred to at work as "The Toddler Whisperer," & all the regular teachers had requested me. She didn't have an answer, just kind of talked in circles & laughed it off. (This story continues & gets worse over the next few months, but I won't get into that. Pray for my former boss though.) In my car that night, I was crying & praying, when I heard the audible voice of God saying, "Now's the time! Now's the time to do what you've always wanted to do & move to (the place I've always dreamed of moving to)!" Honestly, it was always in my plan to move there one day, but I didn't know when. There was always a sick relative, someone I didn't want to leave, a job, something holding me back. Now, for the first time, I feel like everything actually is aligned! All I'd be leaving behind is my parents (who will move too when my dad retires very soon), my bestie (who is supportive & will visit), & my uncle, aunt, & cousin. The journey of looking for a job there has been long & arduous! I've looked at performing jobs (I'm a singer/actress), but they all require an additional full-time job to live on. They're just considered extra income jobs. I've tried preschools, retail management, secretarial work, jobs at my favorite entertainment complex, hospitality, but everything has low pay, high requirements, or too many applicants (or a combination)! I thought elementary school teachers didn't get paid enough there to afford an apartment on a single salary, but then I realized I was only looking at 1 of the many school districts in the area. Most pay decently, & that's where my heart truly is! I went out & took a ton of tests to reactivate my expired teaching license & have been applying to jobs in about 5 or 6 school districts. The problem is, it's the middle of the school year, so not much is open. I had an interview today for a position that would be beyond perfect for me! 8 other people are interviewing between today & Monday. They said we would all get calls before the end of next week either way letting us know if we got it or not, which I truly appreciate! I know that my teaching license is still pending & I live in a different state (apartments won't let you move in without proof of local income), but no one wants this job more than I do! I poured my heart out to them today, showing them a level of passion for children, teaching, & the area I doubt they'll see in the other candidates. I told them what this would mean to me, which honestly, is more than any words could ever express! I hope they take that into consideration! I've been praying all this time that God will lead me to the right job & that I'll get it, soon, but in His timing! I added that I please not get a false sense of "guaranteed" hope from a job that's not meant to be. I added that to my regular prayers because I have had SEVERAL employers already either offer me a job but then tell me the description or pay was very different than the posting or they would tell me I had the job & they needed to get back with me on when to start or other specifics and I would hear nothing until a week or 2 later when I'd get a generic rejection email. I'm asking y'all to please pray that if this incredible job be God's will for my life, that they will pick me for it & get back with me in a timely & polite manner about it. Pray that the travel, the moving process, & the job transition will go well. Pray that if this isn't the job for me, I'll find that right job for me soon & that whoever gets this job will succeed at it! Thank you! Also, I plan to start the process to adopt a baby after I'm there for 6 months (the legal amount of time you have to be a state resident first), as I've felt like a childless mother for all 39 years of my life, so please pray for that process as well! Pray for the birth mom, the baby, the doctors, the nurses, the facilitators, everyone! Thank you!

We hear your heart and the deep longing for God’s direction in your life, especially as you stand at this crossroads of vocation, relocation, and the desire to embrace motherhood. First, we want to affirm the way you have sought the Lord in prayer, even in moments of disappointment and uncertainty. The audible voice you heard in your car was not a coincidence—it was the Holy Spirit confirming the path He has prepared for you. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

Your former employer’s broken promise and the frustration of job hunting in a new place could easily lead to bitterness or doubt, but you have chosen to surrender these circumstances to God’s sovereignty. We rebuke the spirit of deception and unfaithfulness that has lingered in that situation, and we pray for your former boss—that her heart would be softened to repentance and that she would come to know the Lord’s justice and mercy. Jeremiah 29:11 declares, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."*

As you await the outcome of this interview, we stand with you in faith, believing that if this job is God’s will for you, He will open the door in a way that no man can shut. Revelation 3:8 says, *"I know your works (behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut), that you have a little power, and kept my word, and didn’t deny my name."* However, we also echo your wisdom in preparing your heart for any outcome, trusting that God’s timing and provision are perfect. The delays and closed doors you’ve faced are not without purpose—they are shaping you for the role He has uniquely designed for you.

We pray specifically for this interview process:
Lord, we ask that You would go before [###] and prepare the hearts of those making this decision. Let them see her passion, her qualifications, and most importantly, Your hand upon her life. If this is the job You have for her, let no obstacle stand in the way—not the pending license, not the distance, not the competition. Give her favor as Esther had favor, that she may be chosen for such a time as this. If this is not the right fit, close the door gently and guide her to the position You have ordained, one that will provide for her needs and allow her to flourish in her calling.

The desire you carry to adopt a child is a sacred one, rooted in the heart of God, who *"sets the lonely in families"* (Psalm 68:6). We pray for the journey ahead, that it would be marked by wisdom, patience, and divine connections. May the Lord prepare the right child for you and prepare you for that child, that your home would be a sanctuary of love, truth, and godly training. We lift up every birth mother, baby, and professional involved in this process, asking for protection over their lives, health, and decisions. May God’s peace guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

As you prepare to move, we declare over you the promise of Isaiah 43:19: *"Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now! Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."* The logistics of relocation can feel overwhelming, but we trust that the Lord will provide housing, community, and provision in ways that exceed your expectations. We also encourage you to seek out a local body of believers in your new city—a church family that will support you, pray with you, and walk alongside you in this new season.

Finally, we want to gently remind you of the importance of anchoring every prayer and decision in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His sacrifice and resurrection that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we find our identity, purpose, and authority. John 14:13-14 says, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* Let this truth be the foundation of your prayers and your life.

We stand with you in agreement, believing that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Whether this job is the next step or another door is about to open, we declare that your future is secure in Him. May you walk in the fullness of His peace, provision, and purpose as you step into this new chapter.

We're right there with you, sister. We've been watching your journey and admiring your faith through all the ups and downs. We're claiming Isaiah 40:31 over you today - "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." We believe that God is going to give you the strength to keep going, to keep hoping, and to keep trusting in Him.

We're also claiming Psalm 37:4 for you - "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." We know that your heart's desire is to serve God and His children, and we believe that He is going to make a way for you to do just that.

And finally, we're claiming Philippians 4:19 - "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." We trust that God is going to provide for you, just as He always has.

Keep trusting, keep hoping, and keep praying. You are not alone, and God is with you every step of the way. We're cheering you on!

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
