Teach Me to Sew Puppets

Dear Lord Jesus. Please help me somehow learn to sew. I could’ve learned last year, but procrastination was happening and I don’t wanna say why please let me learn this month to sew and be able to have some puppets made by the end of the year in several more next year and be able to film them and send them somewhere. I’m sick and tired of being unemployed, abused living with my parents and lied to and manipulated or accused falsely. I went online to learn how to make puppets. I need somebody one on one to teach me how we have a puppet pattern, but I want to know how to sew how to make it and get it done and be able to learn how to sew in general other parts that I’d like to do then I can make my own puppets and be moving on with them. We have tried applying several positions in Zoo keeping in it is failed at the Zoo. I work at Now. I tried to apply, and I would not be interviewed conversely at another Zoo where I used to work at for a season I applied and this other person who didn’t have the experience I did got the job. He had no primary experience I did but he lived there. Apparently I live here and I’m still not even getting interviewed. I cannot be working at Zoo any longer unless maybe for a part-time extra money, Support I can have other jobs to support money that can be active, but I’d like to help get into the entertainment industry, which I’m working on, but they are being Roadblocks getting in my way and it’s got to stop I really need this entertainment job I suffer with AuDHD. And for people like me it’s very hard to find jobs especially fitting ones and working at zoos I have been nearly burned to death and overheated. It’s got to stop my parents want me to be a zookeeper so bad but it failed and don’t remind me of what whores I had to go through. Please get them to teach me how to sew and be able to move on with my life. I’m not having unrealistic expectations. I’ve seen people make living off of puppets since they had to get a second job. I can do that too. I’m capable of doing that. In Jesus Name Amen.

We hear your heart and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord Jesus, and we thank you for calling on His name for help, for it is through Him alone we have access to the Father. We understand how heavy this season has felt, being unemployed, feeling mistreated and manipulated while living with your parents, facing closed doors at the zoos where you have labored, and carrying the extra burden of living with AuDHD which can make finding a fitting job feel so much harder. We want you to know that God sees all of this and He cares deeply about your pain and your desires.

The Lord says in Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. and in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You are fearfully and wonderfully made as Psalm 139:14 reminds us, and God has given you specific gifts and interests, including this desire to create with your hands, for a purpose. He does not overlook the hurt you have experienced, the overheating and near burning out, the false accusations, or the disappointment of being passed over for jobs you were qualified for while others without your experience were chosen.

We also want to lovingly address what you shared about procrastination. We understand that AuDHD brings real challenges with executive function and motivation, and we have compassion for that struggle, yet Scripture calls us to diligence and to steward the time and opportunities God gives us. Proverbs 13:4 says The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied. and Colossians 3:23 says And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. We gently rebuke the pattern of putting off what God has put on your heart to learn, and we encourage you to invite the Lord into that very area of weakness, asking Him for strength to take small faithful steps each day rather than waiting for perfect conditions. Proverbs 16:3 tells us Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. When we commit even the small steps to Him, He establishes our work.

We pray with you for a one on one teacher and for the skill of sewing to be learned well. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him, James 1:5. Ask Him for wisdom for this craft. In practical ways we encourage you to seek out help nearby, perhaps through a local church family, a community sewing class, a fabric store that offers lessons, a library makerspace, or a godly older woman or man skilled with a needle who would be willing to mentor you. Bring your puppet pattern and ask someone to sit with you and walk through the first seams, and then practice daily, even for a short time, to build muscle memory. God often answers prayer through the community He places around us.

Regarding work, we understand the pressure from your parents to remain in zookeeping and your own sense that this door has closed for now except perhaps for part time support. We encourage you to honor your parents as Ephesians 6:2 calls us to, while also seeking the Lord's direction for your own calling with honesty and respect, sharing with them calmly what you have experienced and what you hope to pursue in entertainment and puppetry. It is good that your expectations are not for instant fame but for faithful work, perhaps even with a second job as you mentioned, and that is a humble and diligent mindset. We also encourage you to bring your anxiety about roadblocks and provision to the Lord, for Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We now pray together with you.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up our dear one to You. Lord, You see the weariness from unemployment, the pain of feeling abused and manipulated and falsely accused, and the discouragement from repeated rejection. We ask You to be near as a comforter and defender, to heal the wounds and to provide safe and godly counsel and community for support. Lord, give wisdom and open a door for a patient, skilled person to teach how to sew, to understand patterns, to handle fabric and thread, and to complete puppets well. Give focus, discipline, and grace to overcome procrastination, and help each day to be used faithfully for Your glory. We ask that You provide for daily needs, guide to the right work, whether that is part time work for support or steps into the entertainment field, and remove or redeem the roadblocks according to Your perfect will. Lead to opportunities to film and share these puppets for good and wholesome purposes that honor You. Grant peace to the home, soften hearts, and give clear communication between this dear one and parents. Strengthen this heart to work heartily for You and to trust Your plans for hope and a future. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.

We are so glad you reached out and shared honestly with us. Because you mentioned being abused where you live, we want to pause for your safety first. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. Trained people are ready to help right now and you do not have to face this alone.

We hear how tired you are of being unemployed, feeling manipulated and falsely accused at home, and hitting roadblock after roadblock trying to find fitting work. It makes sense that the zoo work left you burned out and overheated, and that with AuDHD the job search has felt even harder. And we hear how much hope you are putting in learning to sew puppets, wanting to move your life forward and into creative work you can actually sustain.

Since learning online alone has not clicked and you want someone one on one, one gentle next step could be to ask locally where hands on help often exists. A fabric store, library makerspace, community college adult class, or even your church often knows someone who sews and would be willing to sit with you for an hour a week to walk through your puppet pattern and basic stitches. Bringing the pattern you already have makes it easier for a mentor to say yes.

We are praying for your safety, for wisdom for next work steps, and for a patient teacher to come alongside you.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see the strain at home and the desire to use gifts You have given. Provide protection, steady support, and an opening to learn this skill. Give wisdom for each decision and remind them they are seen and valued by You. In Jesus name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request has been brought before the Lord with care, and I thank you for speaking so plainly about the burden you carry. To be weary of unemployment, to feel the sting of false accusation and manipulation, to suffer heat and exhaustion in labour that does not fit you, and to long for a useful calling while living under a difficult roof, is a heavy trial. The Lord knows the way you take, and He hears the prayer you have offered in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

You ask to learn to sew, to make puppets, to find a fitting work and to be delivered from roadblocks that hinder you. This desire to use your hands diligently is good. Scripture calls us to holiness in every station, and to purge out what hinders and to perfect holiness in the fear of God. Procrastination has held you back, as you confess, but the grace of God teaches us perseverance in a settled way of grace. If the Lord has put this skill in your heart to learn, seek it with steady labour. Pray for a teacher, and also act as one who seeks. Ask among the congregation and neighbourhood for a woman skilled with the needle who would sit with you one on one. Inquire at the church, at the library, at a local sewing shop or community class where a patient teacher may show you the pattern, the cutting, the stitch. Begin with small, faithful steps each week, redeeming the time, and the Lord can make that little progress grow into puppets finished by the end of the year, as you hope.

Concerning your work, you have sought places in zoo keeping and have met disappointment, while others without your experience were chosen. You have been burned and overheated and you rightly desire work that will not destroy your health, especially as one who lives with AuDHD and finds many employments ill fitted. Remember this truth for your comfort, that in every event of providence God has a purpose. He is in one mind and who can turn Him. What His soul desireth, even that He doeth. His purpose is unchanged and sure to be effected, and yet you are to labour too, as a voluntary being choosing the right way. He effects His purpose while still the creature is free. Therefore do not despair when doors close. Commit your way to Him, continue to seek honest work, and ask Him to guide you into the entertainment work you desire if it be for your good and His glory, or to show you a better path if it be not. Your parents may wish one thing for you, but you must seek first what the Lord wills for you, honouring them as you are able while walking in the calling He gives.

Take encouragement from the great doctrine of the perseverance of the saints. Our hope is not in our own strength to hold on, but in the promise of God who keeps His own. He has said, They shall never perish, and They shall not depart from me. He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. If you are His through faith in Christ, He will not withdraw His gift, for the life He imparts is immortal and eternal. He loved the church and gave Himself for it that He might present it glorious. This perseverance is perseverance in holiness. If grace has changed you, you are radically and lastingly changed, and He will keep you from finally departing from Him, though temptation remains.

So I will pray for you, that the Lord Jesus would grant you a patient teacher to show you to sew, that He would give you diligence to overcome procrastination, that He would provide fitting work for your hands and sustain your body and mind, that He would give you wisdom and protection in your family trials and bring peace where there has been accusation and manipulation, and that He would establish you in His grace to hold on your way. May you know that all things are yours in Christ, and that private prayer and faithful labour will be blessed by Him who does all things well.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, who will perfect that which concerneth His people. Amen.
