We are joining with you in prayer for Monday night and we thank you for letting us stand with you in this need. It is completely understandable to feel nervous before speaking to a group, even a Christian group where you long to share and be an encouragement, and we are asking God to replace that nervousness with His perfect peace and strength.

The Lord knows your heart and He does not call you to speak in your own strength. Scripture reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are also reminded that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and we cling to His promise, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. As you prepare to speak, remember His word to Moses, Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak Exodus 4:12. He will give you the words He wants you to share.

We noticed you cried out to the Lord for calm, and we want to gently encourage you about the precious name through which we come to Him. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only in His name that we find salvation and peace. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. When we pray in the name of Jesus, we are coming by the way God Himself has provided, trusting that His death and resurrection has opened the door for us to be heard. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we lift up our dear brother or sister to You as Monday night approaches. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would pour out Your strength and Your calm upon this heart. Quiet every anxious thought and guard this mind and heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Take away the spirit of fear and fill this one with Your power, love and self-control. Be with this mouth, Lord, and teach what to speak, that every word would be guided by Your Holy Spirit and would bring glory to You and encouragement to those who hear. Let this time with this Christian group be for Your will and Your honor, not for our own performance, and let Your name be lifted up. We ask that You would be present in that room, that You would prepare the hearts of the listeners, and that You would give boldness and clarity. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our access to You, amen.

We will continue to pray for you leading up to and through Monday night. We encourage you to spend time in prayer and in the Word beforehand, to prepare as you are able, and then to rest in the truth that God is the one who will carry you. He is not looking for perfect eloquence but for a willing and trusting heart. Trust Him to calm you and to use you for His good purposes.

We know how heavy that nervous feeling can feel ahead of Monday night. Wanting to speak well for the Lord in front of others you care about makes the nerves feel bigger, and it makes sense you would ask for prayer for strength and calm.

We are joining you in prayer for that evening. What you are feeling does not mean you are not ready. Often it just shows you care deeply about being faithful with what you have been given to share.

One small thing that has helped others in this spot is to keep the focus simple. You might write down the two or three main thoughts you most want to leave with the group, say them out loud once beforehand so your mouth has practiced them, and plan a quiet moment right before you begin to ask the Lord to steady you. Greeting a couple of friendly faces as people arrive can also make the room feel smaller and kinder when you stand up.

Father, we bring our friend before You as Monday approaches. Please quiet the racing thoughts and give steady strength, clear words and peace in the moment. Help what is shared to be received with grace, and let our friend sense You near throughout the evening. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

Your request to be remembered in prayer as you speak to a Christian group on Monday night has been heard, and we do join you in seeking the Lord for strength and calm.

It is no light thing to speak on behalf of God, and it is right that you should feel your own weakness in view of it. He who would speak for the King of kings bears a solemn responsibility, and his heart must bear a load which he cannot carry in his own strength. Yet this very sense of weakness may drive you to draw near to God, speaking as it were into His very ear in prayer, and there to find that He is near.

You confess that you are nervous and anxious. Take home to yourself this word which has often been preached to my own soul. Anxiety has never comforted anybody, nor has it ever brought any grist to the mill. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. To be anxious about the cause of God, about speaking well for Him, is natural to a tender conscience, but if that anxiety is confined to yourself, no good will come of it. What is needed is to cast it upon Him who cares for you.

Therefore ask of Him wisdom and prudence to know when to speak and how to speak. A God so good, so good to us beyond all imagination, deserves that we shake off our cowardice and speak out for Him manfully, not in our own eloquence but in dependence upon His Spirit. I point you to the Holy Spirit who can work this in you, and make you strong for the hour. He can give you words and calm your spirit, whether in private prayer or in public utterance.

We pray for you now that the Lord will quiet your heart, that He will take away the trembling which would hinder you, and fill you with a steady trust in Him. May He calm you with His presence on Monday night, order your thoughts, give you a clear voice and a loving spirit, and let all that you say be for His praise. May you go not in your own strength but in His, and find that when you are weak, then He is strong.

We will continue to pray that you may be much with Him before you are much with others, and that you may know His peace keeping your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request for prayer has been heard, and I thank you for sharing this need so honestly. It is a good and right thing to ask the Lord for strength and calm when He has given you an opportunity to speak to His people.

Remember that He is not far off, but present everywhere and near to those who call upon Him in earnest. The prophet says, I will fear no evil for You are with me, and the Lord Himself says, I am a God near at hand and not far off. He stands continually waiting for His servants to call, and when we call as we ought He does not refuse to hear. The promise is, while you are yet speaking, He will say, Here I am. He does not wait for you to finish or to find perfect words. Bring your nervousness to Him now in prayer, and trust that He is already listening.

The Scripture also teaches us about courage in speaking the word. The apostle spoke of brethren who became more abundantly bold to speak the word without fear, not from their own strength but from confidence in the Lord. True boldness is not loudness or self reliance, but quiet trust that God will give you what to say for His glory. As you prepare for Monday night, ask Him to give you that kind of courage, to speak clearly and faithfully out of love for those who hear.

I will pray for you, that the Lord will calm your heart, steady your mind, and fill you with peace. May He take away fear and give you strength, so that you may speak with grace and truth and that your words may be helpful to those who listen. May you rest in the knowledge that He is with you in that room, and that He is pleased when His children seek to serve Him faithfully.

Cast your anxiety upon Him, prepare as you are able, and go in the confidence that He who called you will sustain you.
