When you make a promise, you are committed. Enough said. This passage is quoted from the Bible and came from Jesus Himself. God will hold us accountable to our promises and when we married, we promised to be committed to this relationship until death or the day of our Lord. We must keep fighting for our spouses each day through prayer and intercession because we will be held just as accountable as they will be.

What about this piece of trivia: 'If you shake hands on a promise, that's nothing; but if you raise your hand that God is your witness, that's serious'? What ridiculous hairsplitting! What difference does it make whether you shake hands or raise hands? A promise is a promise. What difference does it make if you make your promise inside or outside a house of worship? A promise is a promise. God is present, watching and holding you to account regardless.

Thank you Christian, I am holding on to the promise i made before God. God is the love of my Life. I thank god i can say that. Six months ago, i wouldnt have been able to say that. I am close to God, because of my bad marriage. I know I will always have God from this day forward. God was there for me, the day i made my promise to God, and Brian. My wedding day. Its been 24 yrs, since i made that promise. Unfortently, its take the last year to really think of what that promise i made before . Lord, you were with me all along, even when i abandoned you. Thank you Jesus, you are so faithful. In Jesus Name, amen

Lord when all else is gone we have you and your word. And it shall stand forever. In the beginning was the word and the was with God and the word was God. Christians words brought so much to remembrance this morning on how powerful WORDS are.How serious what he has said, is to you. For you can not lie. When we break a promise we are lying. God , satan is a lie and the father of all lies. Let each of us take to heart and ponder what we have promised and/or said, oh Lord and all the spouses here that are breaking their vows remove the blinders from their eyes that they may see your glorious light for in the for in the light there is no lies.
